Lomachenko is more sensational and had better highlights and was more fun to watch. Shakur Stevenson is the more effective fighter.

I too thought Lomachenko would be the best of this era and bought into the hype as I wanted this to be true because I was a huge fan of his. It didnt happen. What do you want me to do, Not accept reality ?

Even at 130 I think he wouldve

There it would be most competitive

At 126 Shakur was too green imo

Agreed. I am absolutely not convinced Shakur wins at 130lbs, however. The only recent fighter I'd pick over Loma at that weight is Floyd.

It would have been a good fight.

Stevenson is clearly the bigger man, but Lomachenko has good footwork, offensive skills and a southpaw stance match up well against Stevenson. I would favor Lomachenko if the fight happened 4-5 years ago, but 50/50 if the fight happened 3 years go. Loma was getting older and Stevenson was getting more experience.

They actually sparred for Lomachenko's preparation for Rigo and rumors that it was relatively competitive.

Lomachenko was injured, still started to light Teo up although way too late, and being the smaller man who needed to come froward, Loma was in a different universe as far as stylistic comfort goes. Lopez always struggled on the front foot and I would go as far as to say the early 135 version going for the title was less volatile mentally and perhaps hungrier.

Loma stops Shakur at 126 or 130lbs.

At 135lbs Loma handles him as easily as he did Haney, 8-4 type fight.

I think Shakur is too big and too good.. I don’t think he’s a better fighter, but in a one in one, the size combined with his skill and style would be too much to overcome for Loma, IMO, who was a dwarf above 130.
