He looked like he didn't even want to be there for a good chunk of the fight. Benavidez is a manufactured cherrypicking conman. The Gvozdyk who fought Beterbiev destroys that overhyped clown.

You are clearly speaking from an objective position right lol. Lots of Benavidez opponents don't want to be there. Maybe one say you will work out why, but I doubt it.

People on the youtube comments bagged on this card but I think they are good matchups basically FNF level. I expect some good fights

Clearly. Any seasoned boxing fan should be able to spot manufactured conmen who do nothing cherrypick washed up overthehill opponents while they try to age out of the real top fighters.

Beggers cant be choosers. This card will probably end up being more entertaining than that crap card yesterday. Plus its Sunday night boxing. Cant argue with that.

Gvozdyk unfortunately has not been the same fighter since the tragedy that befell Stevenson. Think he lost a certain edge to his game that could have been the difference maker against Beterbiev - and then obviously that would translate to his fight against Benavidez. The best of the stable of Ukraines golden era Olympic team really views boxing as a gentlemen's sport and the occasional unfortunate brutality really dissuades them from the whole affair (e.g. Loma begging Commeys corner to stop the fight as an example).

Risky fight for Gvozdyk especially at this stage of his career but I like the matchup.

Hot Rod is a big punching dangerman with 14 1st round KOs and his only legit losses are to Beterbiev and Morrell the later of whom he arguably beat and he was extremely competitive vs. He hasn't fought in over a year and a half though albeit Gvozdyk has only fought once in an even longer timeframe, vs a complete tomato can and he has only fought one world class opponent in 5.5 years. That being said, Hot Rod has only fought 2 in the same amount of time

But Hot Rod is 34 and Gvozdyk turns 39 in April.

Prime for prime I would strongly favour Gvozdyk but there's a reason why you never hear Hot Rod's name mentioned from the mouths of the promoters and matchmakers of the likes of Yarde, Buatsi, Callum Smith, and other prospects and fringe world level ones and even many other world level LHWs even though he's the exact kind of calibre guy they should be facing in order to try and bridge that gap between world and elite level for many of them. Because he's too dangerous and high risk low reward. He might be on the decline now too though

Only Beterbiev has decisively beaten him. Hot Rod was robbed blind vs Marcus Browne and, as said, arguably beat Morrell or drew vs him

Zuffa made a mistake by hiring Max Kellerman and Mike Coppinger as commentators.

Neither can score a fight objectively, they always root for one boxer or the other.

Kellerman is annoying, always trying to be smart, yet tactless and coming across as a silly fanboy. He's maladroit in interviews.

Kellerman will literally waffle on throughout the whole fight favouring his homie even if he's getting punched around the ring.

Now that Ward is commentating for Zuffa boxing lets see if he wants to try his marauding UFC-like tactics against Islam Makhachev in the cage.

I gave you a like just because maladroit is a great word not used nearly enough. Well done.
