Vasyl Lomachenko vs Shakur Stevenson: Who wins?

Are we gonna pretend like Shakur didn't just shut out Loma's daddy? That did just happen.

Loma has had more excuses made for him than any other fighter in history. Nothing is ever his fault, apparently...

 

Whitaker fought better fighters than shakur has.

 

Whitaker had a close fight with Ramirez, regardless of who you think won.

Teo is better than Ramirez and Shakur hasn’t had a close fight with anyone.

Whitaker was struggling in his later career against Hurtado and Rivera before losing to Oscar.

Shakur is on pace or better so far.

 

You’ve never talked to me about it if you think that.

Loma was visibly small for 135, its not an excuse it is what it is… He’s not an ATG because of it. If he stayed at 126-130 and dominated regardless of who the competition was, he’d likey be known as an ATG at those weights (similar to other athletes who reigned for a long time over average divisions).

Its respectable that he sought out the challenges though… but IMO will be a hindrance to his legacy for many.


….and “A beat B, but C beat A, so C is better” doesn’t really work in boxing….

Also to be clear, in a fight, as I stated earlier, I’d favor Shakur at any weight…. But the size is definitely part of that, and with that said, just because I think he’d win, it doesn’t mean he’s a better fighter overall… although he may prove to be eventually.

 

Shakur is way too big and rangy for T-Rex Loma. I would favor him at 130 too, tho. Levels

 

Shakur is a fair bit bigger but Loma's style is the worst for Shakur's possible IMO.

 

Not if Shakur beat him at, say, 130. Loma wasn't small for 130 in the later stages of his career. He just made the contracted 138 limit in the second day weigh-in for Rigo, so he was in all likelihood somewhere in the 140's already 2017. Don't think he'd be lower than 130 when Shakur came up there.

 

I dont think Lomachenko is pyhsical enough and I dont think he hits hard enough

Would be an interesting fight but I think that Raymond Muratalla would be the toughest fight for Shakur Stevenson

 

Ahhh Loma, the mythical style nightmare for everybody...

It was only a few years ago that 85% of this forum was calling Loma a style nightmare for a prime Floyd.

This guy got sooooooooooooooo much mileage off his 8-4 win over Gary Russell, I swear... a Gary Russell who at the end of the day, never amounted to much.

Too bad Loma couldn't be a style nightmare for Teo and Haney.

 

Loma would’ve given Floyd a run for his money on Dancing With The Stars.

 

It's easy for gronks to say Loma was overrated now that he has retired.
Loma was highly skilled and went after everyone he wanted all the smoke and there were top guys that didn't want anything to do with him like Tank and Mikey Garcia. Loma was still fighting the best available in his mid 30's.
Shakur is 28 and just won his first big fight.

 

Teo isn’t better than Ramirez. Take out Loma and hes done very little but lose to George Kambosis. Ramirez lost to ATG’s almost exclusively and won over 100 fights. López can’t carry his spit bucket.

 

Teo is better and a lot bigger than Ramirez. That’s he won all of those titles across two divisions whereas Ramirez lost most of his big fights.

 

I’ve been saying for years that both Loma and GGG’s amateur records aren’t variable and therefore not credible.
