Usyk is pulling a Fury right now. Inactive over winter, will fight a nobody not struggle but not fight to the level he should do then end up in front ofFury for a trilogy and lose by 1 point from a Canelo judge. He won't fail a drug test though so he has that going for him.

 

this fight isnt happening its just talk. Rico is definitely going to be on some Turki cards so hes just plugging him here. Joshua/Verhoeven or even Ngannou is much more likely.

 

I'd rather Usyk fought Dave Allen.

 

Usyk can do whatever he wants. Crawford was fighting David Avanesyan and one legged Jose Benavidez type guys his whole career

 

I quite like crossover stuff, but that would be such a POINTLESS fight. More one-sided and boring than an Usyk vs. Parker match-up. At least make it a kickboxing fight for it to be interesting, although that would never happen I know. As I've posted about before, I want to see Ngannou vs. Verhoeven in boxing, that really interests me. Both undisputed champions of their own sport, with neither having a clear advantage.

 

Avanesyan was the European champion and WBA interim champion. He also stopped Josh Kelly, who has just outboxed the boogeyman at 154 and became IBF champ. Rico Verhoeven has 1 pro boxing win against a journeyman. There's no comparison. I literally had to Google him; it's a joke fight. Usyk can do whatever he wants, you're right, but he needs to relinquish the belts. No fighter has earned the right to hold up an entire division and take joke fights.

 

There are casuals on Twitter who know more about boxing than Turki Alashaik

If he can whup Francis, we can talk about him fighting an established gatekeeper (Hrgovic maybe), then a contender - if he gets through that, and Usyk hasn't retired, then it might be interesting.
