Such a good line, but for all of the wrong reasons.

Let's be honest. He'd say that before he was brain damaged further by boxing.
People are making excuses for him as usual.
Tyson was also just having a bad mental health day when he bit off Evan Field's ear. Just off to buy some tickets for his travelling talk show.

Usyk would utterly destroy Toney of course. Toney is a MW so it's not a fair fight. But the fact remains that Usyk would wreck him.
Dem skillz wouldn't be payin dem billz dat night, and dats fo shaw.

Toney just needs to fight more, honestly. Too inactive. Maybe a rematch with Lucas Browne. You'll get him this time, champ!

I wouldn't go that far, but a 5'9 guy going up to Cruiserweight and HW and giving some of the serious contenders / champions a good fight is fun to watch.

Usyk would win every second of every round against Toney.

I don't even rate Usyk as a true great heavyweight but he would have made mincemeat of Toney.

Do we think so? Cruiserweight and heavyweight were likely a plate of fried chicken, grits and gravy too far for Toney's greatness; he never showed his earlier brilliance at the higher weights, but I still dont think at cruiser he would have been an easy night for anyone...

He’d school your ass at any weight.

I love Toney but he’s a bitter old man. He was like that with Klitschko’s too.

Toney was a serious talent. A bold call if taken literally.

How can you be a gold medalist and undisputed at cruiser and heavy and be average lol. Jealousy is a *****. Toney was an elite fighter but Usyk ranks way above him in ATG standards. Toney might be flashier but Usyk is better.

Toney doesn't like European fighters, he has a history of slating them including racially charged remarks. Usyk would piece Toneys roided fat ass up.

And James Toney drew with, let me check my notes here, 24-11 Sanderline Williams. WHO? Had hell with Mike McCallum who was very good, but not great.

When Toney has his chance to prove his greatness against the other legit all-time P4Per in Roy Jones Jr. he got schooled. Then he got beat by Montell ****ing Griffin.

I enjoyed Toney's fights and he deserved the HoF, but he's the last guy that needs to be commenting on whether someone else is great or not. Dude failed miserably at multiple points in his career, routinely got embarrassed, and was so undisciplined he basically naturally ended up at HW from MW because he couldn't stop stuffing his face. His best win is who, Michael freaking Nunn? Or his win over an old, shot to **** Holyfield? Usyk's got better wins than that at both Cruiser AND Heavyweight.

Talent wise it’s hard to match toney.
Discipline was his weakness, therefore he didn’t achieve what he should have…his own fault. But can’t deny his talent

That's almost like saying Ray Robinson was great but he was ****. Doesn't make sense

Love Toney as a fighter but he's talking rubbish here.
