Yes, he’s built was impressive! We had high hopes for him but unfortunately he wasn’t the same after that loss and kinda just disappeared. He was going to UNLV and just focused on school after that I believe.
I don’t remember but Duncan was on the cover at one point, could been that one. I meet Guinn a few times, very cool guy, said he had seen Duncan spar before their fight and was scared getting hit when they fought and that’s why he clinched so much. Guinn had a few good wins and had a top ranking but lacked discipline, seeing him train was disappointing.

Too bad what happened to Mesi, he was a fun fighter.

Guinn was a good fighter but would just stop throwing punches. Good left hook and awesome chin, but he had that Moorer/Hrgovic thing where he would just seem to forget that he was in a fight.

 

Yeah he was a good fighter and nice guy, but like you said, seemed uninterested at times and in practice it showed even more. I met him the first time after the Duncan fight and he was sharp and charismatic and then a few years later he came to our gym and trained and he wasn’t the same person, still a nice guy but you could tell he wasn’t into boxing anymore.
