    Given Bad Bunny gave a small shout-out to Puerto Rico’s boxing history/culture with a couple of guys shadow boxing during his set headlining the Super Bowl halftime, I figured maybe we could pay tribute by discussing our faves.

    For me it’s (1) Wilfredo Gomez and (2) Wilfred Benitez. I guess Camacho would be third on my card.

    How about you?

    (Shoutout to @AntonioMartin1 our resident expert on the topic — what did you think of the Bunny and did the fact that he included the boxers make you smile as it did me?)

    EDIT TO ADD: They were real boxers, both of whom fight under the Top Rank banner: Xander Zayas and Emiliano Vargas.

    Fast Fres Oquendo might be their best heavyweight. Guy got robbed more than a bodega on 116th and 2nd Ave

    For me, Tito,, Gomez, Benitez in that order but we cant forget to mention Escalera, De Jesus, Cotto, Calderon, Sanchez, Ruiz

    Tito, fantastic fighter and even better human being. Lots of love for Puerto Rico and its boxers, Benitez, Gomez, Ortiz etc; but Tito is my absolute favorite.

    I would also like to thank them for their part in The Puerto Rico vs Mexico rivalry…that has given us so many great fights over the years

    Carlos Santos. Speedy, smooth southpaw mover who could throw some wicked body shots and take some hard shots. Great stamina, too.
