Kabayel is the number 1 fight... but apart from him, I agree, there aren't really a lot of good options. I think the next best option is Hrgovic. Maybe Sanchez, although he seems to have fallen way off the radar since the loss to Kabayel, which is a shame as he has potential. Would be an interesting battle of the slick boxers, although not a great fight for the casuals.

I think Usyk has earned the right to fight a lesser opponent next if he wishes, as long as he goes straight back into camp afterwards and doesn't take 6 months off after it. Usyk is all about legacy, and I know a lot of people don't like bridgerweight (I personally think it's a good idea), but why not try and go for one of the belts, and become a three-weight world champion? A nice low-risk reward, and Usyk weighs in around bridgerweight usually anyway. Or fight another Ukrainian in Poland, like Vykhryst, Sirenko or Rudenko. Again, easy fight but his country would appreciate it... and I know that representing Ukraine is currently one of the biggest things that currently drive him to keep going. Would rather any of those fights compared to stupid fights against Verhoeven or Jake Paul.

 

There are a few things wrong here, one is that Usyk was the one who pushed for the Wilder fight, public opinion was overwhelmingly negative for the fight getting made.
The second thing is taking Wilder at his word, which is hard to understand, based on his entire career and his previous record of being the ultimate Walter Mitty in boxing.
The likely reason is that Usyk realised that this could actually tarnish his legacy rather than enhance it, so he looked down the list of former champions who he hasn’t fought, and ended up with Andy Ruiz, who is clearly a much more credible opponent than Wilder, I don’t like this, he woke Wilder up and he’s not going to put him to sleep.
I’m not enjoying this absolute wanker having a platform again, he’s only been back on the scene for a minute and he’s already being a piece of shite talking complete bollocks.

 

I was under the impression Wilder v Chisora was to filter Usyks next opponent? As Usyk has long expressed interest in a Chisora rematch and the fight was made right after Usyk v Wilder was supposedly a done deal.

What happened? Can someone briefly sum up what actually happened?
