If Errol Bung Eye v King Tim has been pushed back to the American summer, it reflects a couple of things. Firstly, Bung Eye isn't willing to fight in Australia. That's the only way Tim would have fought him next up. Secondly, Tim's new management team would have advised him against fighting Bung Eye next up in America. You can't assume Bung Eye is completely shot. You have to assume he can still pull it all together. If he can still pull it all together, he's a favourite to beat Tim who has put together one in a row since being stopped by Beanstalk. Tim fought Beanstalk in America coming in off one in a row & it wasn't enough. He fought Bakhram coming in off none in a row & it was nowhere near enough. Timmy hired a bloke to do the matchmaking for him & I think this outcome is a win for him. I'd say Tim is in the frame to fight on the Liam Paro world title show in Brisbane. Tim is going to need three or four wins in a row to get back to his best. Not one or two.
Tim is turning 32 this year, if he's not ready for Spence, a welterweight who got bashed and has been on the shelf for nearly 3 years then he's never ever going to be a serious player again. He can continue to make money on the local tour, there's nothing wrong with that.
Come to Queensland Errol we promise you will have a good time @Sandman_ @WhataRock This content is protected
He turns 32 at the end of the year. What he can't afford is another kayo defeat. They need to be careful with him. Taking him back to America to fight Spence before he's ready isn't being careful. In saying that, Spence isn't going to wait around too long for him. It would seem to me that fighting Spence in America during their summer is a sensible compromise (& what I called for in my original post on this thread). Spence might be completely shot, or he might not. If he's not, it's going to be a very difficult assignment for Tim to beat him in America. Tim will likely get Charlo if he wins, so he's back in business in a big way if he takes care of Errol.
There's no doubt about these Doodle Dandies. Errol doesn't want the Australian smoke. Something about there being too much salt in the water. Errol Bung Eye only wants to play with a stacked deck in the US - American state boxing commission overseeing the fight, American ref & judges.
Yeah it's a shame that Spence and the Houston Hare don't fancy coming down under. Don't they realize in the US this is just another fight but down here it will be massive and they will get the royal treatment.
I don’t know what to tell you guys but circling around Spence like sharks is a bad look.. the guy is happily shot and retired. Damaged retina is enough.. Everyone has left Spence. That’s the sad part.
Spence had no qualms about fighting Brook whose eye damage from the GGG fight was much worse so I don't really have any sympathy for him.
hey you’re Aussie, I don’t blame you.. I thought Horn fought Manny a lot tougher than people think. He’s a lot better than people discredit him for.. I always thought Kell Brook was garbage. Gate keeper..
Absolutely it's a risk to go back to PBC and fight Spence. They'll do all they can to get the win for Spence but since Tim has lost, everybody is talking about him as if he's a young kid who needs to gradually step up his competition. He's not in a position to do it. He's had a soft touch in his last fight and Spence is damaged goods. If Tim believes he can be champion again then he has to take the Spence fight.. It's a tough one for him but he's partly to blame. I'm not criticising, he can be a top 20 type fighter for the next 3 years, fighting winnable fights in Oz, making big money or he can fight Spence, get a truer indication of what his level is and go from there.
Spence only fought Brook because he was damaged by the good boy. If Doc Brown and Marty Mcfly erased the GGG fight from history then Brook is beating Spence.
