@Ike you keep saying that Opetaia has been handled “too carefully” yet you continue to avoid actually substantiating this ignorance with facts. HOW has he been handled too carefully in light of the following two conveniently omitted truths?

    1) He challenged and beat the almost unanimously agreed best CW on the planet and won the IBF and Ring belts off him.

    2) Then he beat him again.

On that basis alone, Jai has not been handled too carefully. He, without question has the two best wins out of any active CW alive. So what you are saying is just an outrageous load of crap. If anything, the opposite is true and those two wins have made him the single most feared fighter in all of boxing, in any weight division.

Then you factor in the fact that literally every other top CW, including CBS, Riakporhe, Jack and global boxing’s biggest coward Zurdo Ramirez have all been offered fights with Opetaia and subsequently run for the hills and your version of events looks like a house of cards. It’s insulting.

The hill you are choosing to die on is a strange one when the facts tell an entirely different story.

I'm not speaking as a fanboy and I said that among the more soft opponents (compared to the best in the division) Briedis obviously shouldn't be considered. He was the top fighter in the division in 2022 and was a tough opponent for Opetaia, especially in the first match between the two.

I have no problem accepting an opinion different from mine, but you seem to be bothered by someone who doesn't agree with you, but that's your problem, not mine. In any case, what you say about Zurdo Ramirez is bad, athletes deserve respect.

You and I will stop arguing here. I'm on the forum to discuss boxing, and I do so objectively (not as a fanboy), respecting opinions different from mine, and respecting the athletes. It makes no sense to me to continue reading your posts, so I've decided to ignore you. No hard feelings, have a nice day.

Ahh, there it is…aside from the two Briedis fights and every alleged world class CW who have all ducked him Jai has been handled carefully. He’s literally called out every single one of them. Repeatedly.

In Opetaia’s 22nd fight he fought and beat the best CW on the planet. Here’s a few modern greats and who they fought in their 22nd fight:

    Tyson Fury fought Joey Abell.
    Bud Crawford fought Andrey Klimov.
    Canelo Alvarez fought Carlos Jerez.

Jai Opetai fought and beat Mairis Briedis. Handled carefully? You’re either delusional or you have an agenda. Or you’re stupid. Opetaia can’t exactly fight guys who are scared of him so to claim he is being handled carefully is a flat out lie. There’s nothing objective about your position as you refuse to address any challenge to it.

Which leads me back to Zurdo. I’ll say what I like mate. I have zero respect for him as he’s done nothing to earn it. He’s a bum and he’s a coward. Don’t call me out for disrespect when it was Zurdo himself who claimed to have never even heard of Opetaia and he said this only a few weeks ago. Zurdo is trash. He’s petrified of Opetaia and he has no class whatsoever.

My prediction is that nobody watches this fight. There is no reasonable argument that Glanton is deserving of a title shot.
