Wardley vs Dubois

I would think Warldley. Comparable power, a bit faster hands, and much mentally tougher.

Buy its a tough one to call if Joshua-Hrgovic Dubois shows up.

 

Young Daniel is a great choice of opponent for Wardley.

If you are matching Wardley's greatest strength against Dubois greatest weakness, it could be over in under 4 rounds.

 

The favouritism that Dubois gets in boxing is suspicious to say the least... ridiculous that he gets an immediate title shot straight after losing by KO, again, in his last one. Surely he should get a win over someone notable first. Didn't deserve the title shot against Usyk the first time round, and then gets handed a belt as soon as Usyk vacates. Didn't deserve to fight for the undisputed... should have been made to fight Parker once his "injury" had cleared up, not get a free pass to the title.

And now this, if it actually happens. How many more chances is he gonna get? As many as Warren wants I guess. As for the fight itself, I can only see Wardley winning this by KO, but it will probably be fun while it lasts. Wardley is the antithesis of Dubois, intelligent guy, amazing chin, never-say-die attitude. All wrong for Dubois.

 

Wardley late KO again. He will try and drag Wardley into a brawl and come off second best. Triple Knee doesn't have the chin or the mentality. This is the fight I've been waiting for, Joshua couldn't beat Dubois, but Wardley will

 

It's incredible to witness how much the business side of boxing prevails over the sport side almost every time. Dubois, ranked 4th, gets a title shot immediately after a defeat? Hrgovic, ranked 2nd, coming off 2 decent wins, doesn't? 0 logic sportswise. Only understandable once you take into account the financial incentives.

I'd have somewhat tolerated if Wardley waited for Itauma (ranked 1st) to win against Franklin to fight him, even though Itauma's last 2 wins are overrated as they're against opponents who realistically aren't even in top 20 anymore, McKean due to brain injuries from the Hrgovic fight, Whyte came literally limping to the ring. But fine, I can understand why people who don't notice such things would think they're decent wins.

I could even have tolerated if Wardley waited for Fury to win against Makmudov, at least Fury is still Fury, even now, and he'd have a decent win coming into the fight.

But this is just beyond disgusting if it happens.

 

This should be an exciting fight.

 

Wardley is on a roll. DD can be a bit hit and miss. DD a bit more technically correct. I thought Wardley might go for a softer touch for a first defense so this is a good fight. Tough to call.

 

It seems almost done, it would be an interesting matchup. I think that Wardley isn't a difficult fighter to read, Huni was clearly winning against him before being knocked out, and Dubois' jab could pose a serious problem for Fabio. This, combined with Daniel's aggressiveness and workrate, could give the former IBF champion a significant advantage over Wardley. But I think Dubois lacks Ring IQ and is less solid (especially mentally) than Wardley. I'll definitely admire DDD if, after a knockout loss, he immediately faces Wardley. I'd say Wardley by stoppage in the final rounds of the fight, when Dubois is clearly ahead on the judges' scorecards.

I'd add that a fighter coming off a knockout loss shouldn't have a chance to fight for the world title. This obviously isn't Dubois' fault (as I wrote, I admire him for coming back against Wardley), and unfortunately, we're used to these things by now, but I wanted to point it out anyway.

 

Good matchup and both fighters are big punchers and easy to hit,certainly has the makings of an exciting fight written all over it,as for who takes it,it all depends which Dubois turns up !

 

If this fight happens and Wardley's victorious, then he most definitely has earned the right to fight Usyk. Imo, of course...

 

If Dubois gets KO'd, how soon does he get another title shot?

 

Dubois definitely doesn't deserve it but I have to ask how you came to the conclusion that Mckean dropped out of a ranking system because of brain damage inflicted by Hgorvic?
