Can you really call it a placeholder fight when he's only fighting once a year?

 

He has earned the right to fight whoever he wants, sure, but not by holding the belts and his mandatories hostages.

It's not a good look to bypass Wardley, Kabayel etc whilst holding on to the belts and fighting once a year; just retire or vacate and do the exhibitions / money fights - Wilder/Fury 3 etc

 

No he didn't. He's the champion and should give opportunity to the top contenders. It's not all about him.

 

I can't believe I am having to type this, but the world heavyweight champion needs to fight a proven, at least fringe, top-20/25 or Euro-level professional boxer as a tune-up. There is no alternative, especially not somebody from a completely different combat sport.

I don't think this will happen, but if happens it will probably be an exhibition fight where Usyk will win. If it was a real kickboxing fight, Verhoeven blows Usyk into bits.

 

so Usyk teases possible opponents on social media (ruiz, wardley, parker & kabayel), get fans to vote to see who they want him to fight and then he would turn around and say forget about that im fighting a kickboxer instead? yeah im not going for that.
