The whining about ducking and not fighting opponents earlier is bizarre given how many big fights don't happen or don't happen when they should.

It's even more insane given that fighting once a year automatically precludes you from fighting lots of guys. Why even bother ducking when your fight schedule prevents you from fighting so many dangerous opponents.

Floyd lost JLC1. This entire thread is based on Floyds perfect record and JLC 1 ends the thread. I'm a Floyd fan. I think a Draw can be Argued for Maidana 1 but thats about it. Floyd did win everything else including both the JLC and Maidana rematches.

Floyd is up there, for sure, but hes just not better than SRR, SRL, Ali, and a few others. The numbers of boxers that were better than him may very well be less than the fingers on two hands.

He beat a lot of great fighters. Even if he lost to JLC. He beat Maidana imo 7 rounds to 5. He lost the first 5 won the next 7.

Who was calling Ali the best boxer ever? Pretty sure Ray Robinson is the consensus best.

People say De La Hoya was shot when he fought him, when were they supposed to fight? Floyd was 11 years into his professional career. Oscar was 15. It's not like Floyd could have fought him in 2000 just for years in.

Floyd retired for almost 2 years the fight that should have took place sooner for sure was against Pac. That would have been the biggest super fight ever as they were both in their primes. Just for their names in 2015 it still was. He definitely could have fought Cotto and Mosely earlier no question. Floyd beats both of those guys regardless.

Anyway the great man is supposedly coming back after he fights Tyson. Bad move. But with so much money comp for grabs who can really blame him. He's probably pissed away most of it on cars and gambling.

Floyd is definitely one of the best ever. He had many chances to take on greater opposition than would have massively enhanced his legacy. If Floyd had taken on all the top opposition available to him, his claim to being TBE would be a lot more warranted.

Arguing who is the greatest boxer is s mug's game but to say Mayweather is the greatest athlete to live is risble. Imagine him in a Superstars like competition competing against the likes of a Bo Jackson, Jim Brown, or Michael Jordan.

Imagine them competing against him. In boxing. In his prime.

Imagine him playing Michael Jordan one on one or trying to tackle Jim Brown or Bo Jackson in the open field. Those cats could run faster, jump higher, and lift more weight, even if you control for size. And i specifically mentioned Superstar like competition which includes a myriad of athletic events like running, weightlifting, jumping, and swimming.

In a street fight Jim Brown and Bo Jackson simply grab him and end it. Little May is giving up six inches of height and 80 pounds.
