To be fair I wasn't aware that Martin had a fan.

You have a point there. I suppose I should have said Martin defenders...

Bottom line, Charles Martin has a glass jaw, always had one, and anyone who disputes that dksab!!!

His chin isn't a strength thats for sure.

Honestly the fact Martin won the first 2 rounds with a top HW is a glass half full for him. Martins still got some good years in the regional scene ahead.

Maybe prime Charles Martin is better than a lot of peoples think.

And maybe prime Charles Martin was a decent opponent for Efe Ajagba.

Sure. Even the best hitters in baseball don't typically crack .400 and I bet our predictions of chin shatters are better than that!!

In any event I hit a home run last night when Charles Martin took his canvas nap. He is indeed a glass jawed fighter!!

TBH I don't understand why anyone would spend time disparaging Martin, like who are you arguing against? He doesn't really have any fans and I don't think anyone disputes his fragile mandible.

Yeah, he does seem like he'd still do very well against guys below the world level.

Such a shame that the US does not have the equivalent of what the EBU is in Europe, or the BBBofC in Britain, or the JBC in Japan. Martin would have had a damn good career in Britain.

There was at least one person in the round by round thread arguing that it wasn't his chin but his "defense" that accounted for his getting starched -- the usual excuse that glass jaw deniers like to use to obscure the central importance of a sturdy mandible to success in boxing.

And while those trying to excuse Martin's fragile mandible and general mediocrity may not be fans of Martin himself, I bet some of 'em are fans of Joshua!!!:deal:

I was surprise that Charles Martin did very well in the round one and two. (I think he take the first two rounds by far, he was in advance in the scorecards before the stoppage).

(I watch the replay it was too much late in France)

But honestly I think he lost against Ajagba maybe more by his age and inactivity, He really has a great boxing style for a heavyweight a great footwork; it's a real change from some common heavyweight like Ricardo Brown or Jose Larduet. I would have liked to see Charles Martin fight the French champion, Mattar Garcia who is also very skilled for a heavyweight with his combinations and his fast hands.

Honestly he proof for me (Charles Martin) that he is not the most weak heavyweight champion specially if I compare him with the irregular but also pretty skilled Siarhei Liakhovich or Oleg Maskaev (who is the most bad chin for a heavyweight champion I think).

Is this "prime Charles Martin" in the room with us now?

What fight of his was he in his peak prime? Best performance?
