I wouldn't say they had to sell out; it'd just be recognition of the esteemed belts. I think the cost of creating a belt and legitimising a Zuffa belt in the eyes of the boxing community will arguably cost him more money and time in the long run. Part of Dana's whole initial selling point was that boxing has too much red tape, belts, and bureaucracy, and here is adding to the problem with poor shows and more belts.

So Dana White (out of the goodness of his heart) wants to regulate what is now a free market to maximize benefits to the fighters? White, at least to me, puts out bad energy and I trust him about as far as I can throw him

There's a lot to like about what Zuffa are doing so far.

    1/ Competitive match ups.
    2/ No PPV.
3/ No in between weight divisions - just the meat and potatoes - Heavy, Cruiser, L/Heavy, Middle, Welter, Light, Feather, Bantam.
4/ Only one champion per weight division.
5/ Rankings - when they come out - relevant only to the one title belt per division.
6/ No unnecessary breaks between bouts - two leave the ring and the next two walk in.

Dan Rafael is reporting that Zuffa have signed former featherweight title challenger Otabek Kholmatov and undefeated super featherweight Andres Cortes.

Martin takes the 2nd. Landing more via better ring smarts.

Big talk for someone who just had Charles mother****ing Martin headlining in a mini warehouse.

Dana white is an avid gambler and once a food enthusiast.

    What's not to love.

I like what Zuffa have done so far but arrogance like that from White won't help their cause. That said, it is probably a justifiable response to the endless flack he has received from Hearn and Co, and no doubt Hearn will bite back.

He's the new kid on the block and needs the conflict far more than the established players do. The smart move from their side is to ignore him and avoid directing more eyeballs to what he's providing.

It seems Dana White has been bothered by boxers making tens of millions of dollars from a single fight while UFC fighters are paid peanuts. He’s most likely worried that UFC fighters might wake up and start a rebellion. That’s why he’s set his mind on taking down the “alphabet organizations.” If White succeeds and wipes out the alphabet organizations, boxers will only be able to dream about the fat paychecks they get today.
