Nah. The decision to count is up to the ref. I prefer a count to a quick stoppage. I mean just watch the Pirog/Jacob's fight. Dude didn't count. That knockdown didn't appear as brutal as when Fury was dropped. Nobody really complained and I don't think people would have complained if the ref waved the Fury fight off. And I'm not sure it was a long count either.

 

I think referees, should follow Jack Reiss' example. Excellent bit of refereeing and I'm surprised he didn't get more major fights to officiate.

And his demographic would consist of ALOT of people that watched but won't watch another boxing match (paid) in the near future

And to even think Uysk would accept 30 percent over a fighter he has already beaten twice, to achieve something he has already achieved twice is truly stupid

Uysk is a Superstar now, that's a fact, maybe not on Fury's level but he sold out Wembley against Dubois and please don't tell me Dubois did this by himself
Uysk has beaten the best the UK has to offer and the UK is country as you know that brings big money to the table
Fans will now pay to see him as they know what he is about

It's the WBC. They'd find a way to do it if it meant having Fury as their posterboy again

 

Usyk is clearly only interested in money fights at this stage of his career, and a third bout is exactly the sort of fight Turki would throw money at.

As for the belt, even a declined Fury can outbox Dubios and Wardley. Their styles are tailor made for Fury to win a points fight against.

I expect Fury to win via round 10-12 TKO/UD Big Mahk (he'll want to get some rounds in and won't be in a rush) then he'll take on the WBO title holder, then Turki will try and make another undisputed fight between Fury and Usyk providing they can bribe the WBC.

 

Whilst yes, it's the WeBeCorrupt, they're obviously not that bothered about having a champion with limited saleability or they'd have made sure to put Kabayel through the ringer to get him off the interim throne in case Usyk potentially vacates.

They haven't.

While it's not impossible that they'd find an excuse to get it back to Fury, that being part of your expectations is a bit wild, which was the whole point.

 

Usyk is the current champion with other mandatories with Fury in retirement up until now. I don't think it's wild to assume that the WBC might manipulate their ratings with Fury coming back.

 

It's not wild to think it's possible... Or at least that they'd like to.

To predict timelines where it specifically happens without a fight being made? Nah...

Especially when the WBC insists it's going to enforce it's mandatory for Kabayel AFTER Fury's booked in a fight against Makh?

If they were desperate to get Fury back in there they'd have either insisted Kabayel fight Fury (a win-win for them as it'd sell and they'd get a good cut - and either Fury wins or they build Kabayel more) or they'd have held off announcing that they were going to enforce Usyk-Kabayel.

 

It is possible for Fury to fight both the winner of Wardley/Dubios and Kabayel in the same year. It's not like Usyk is moving at anything above a snails pace at the moment.

 

Truth, except for the part about almost losing to an MMA fighter. He did lose to an MMA fighter, and everyone knows it.

 

What exactly would be putting him through the ringer?
He beat the WBC#3, followed that up with the WBC#2, followed that up with the interim title fight. Who else is he expected to fight on the ladder before a title shot?

I suppose he could have fought Okolie instead of Knyba, but it would be hard to enforce when their champion isn't fighting anyone on the ladder

 

Possible but unlikely - at absolute best you're talking 18 months+ from coming off Makh before he'd then be ready for Usyk (IF Usyk wants #3).

At Fury's age and with a bit of decline into the mix, it's a big ask - assuming he comes out of all 3 on top and without significant injuries that might prolong the recovery times... Big, big ask.
