Lennox Lewis vs Usyk

I don't care is his name is Muhammed I'm hard Bruce Lee nobody is beating Usyk.

 

Especially not in this garbage era of HW's we've had for the past ten years

 

It's been a solid era, in all honesty, better than the Klitschko era, and you could argue it's better than the mid-to-late 1980s.

Even in the '90s, let's not forget that a George Foreman, who was older than the pyramids, and a pumped-up, chinny cruiserweight like Tommy Morrison were legit players, sitting in or around the top 10 in the ''incredible'' 90s era.

The gap in quality and depth between past and present boxing eras is usually overstated.

 

Lewis was underrated when he was boxing, hence why boxing fans have made up the difference and overrated him to high heaven (like the reverse of what's happened with Mike Tyson). Don't get me wrong, he's a top 10 heavyweight, but his resume adds up to more than the sum of its parts, he lacked any signature win, and h2h he is very overrated now. I don't just mean that he lost to Rahman and McCall (he avenged the Rahman loss in style but he didn't avenge the McCall loss, all he did in the rematch was timidly jab at a mentally ill man who'd been driven straight from rehab) but just a long list of lacklustre performances: lost to Mercer, was losing every round to Bruno before Bruno gassed as was his way, got put on the canvas by a terrified Akinwande and just waited for the referee to DQ his man, took longer to beat Mike Tyson than Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, barely beat a faded Holyfield in the rematch, down on all judges scorecards against Vitali when he won it on a cut then didn't give Vitali a rematch. He had some great nights, don't get me wrong, namely Ruddock, Golota, Grant, where he blitzed those guys out quick, but in the comparison with Usyk those aren't really relevant. Lennox never really proved that he could beat a cerebral, technical fighter like Usyk. He never even fought a southpaw. Usyk would've been his best win. Granted Lewis would've been Usyk's best win too, but Usyk beating Joshua x2 and Fury x2 is very impressive and both those guys while not as complete as Lewis are both bigger (taller, I believe both have longer arms? but could be mistaken, came in about the same weight or heavier). Both are better than the people Lewis struggled with (including the past-it versions of Holyfield and Tyson that Lewis hangs his name on). I'm going Usyk by UD.

 

Lennox actually never fought a southpaw in his career

 

AJ and Fury got SD's against Usyk but he UD's Lennox Lewis. Logic checks out.

 

I give Usyk the slight edge. Either could beat the other depending on the night.

 

I forgot about this. This is probably more important than ppl think.

 

And its interesting too. Corrie Sanders sought a go with Lennox early 2000's, 03' Im thinking. Never got an offer never got an acceptance. And the story goes Lewis was wary of Corries southpaw power due to the Wladimir outcome. I absolutely favor Lewis in a scrap vs Corrie but he would get tagged a couple times along the way. And I mean, a lefty like Chris Byrd vs Lewis was intriguing too. Lewis size vs Byrds elusive boxing, slick feet and different angles on punches would have Lewis adjusting more then he would have liked too I feel

 

Usyk, and more easily than people would expect.

People are deluded about the canvas napper because they just watch highlights.
AJ is technically better, not as sloppy if you take away the Dubious fight.
People think that's impossible, but imagine both of them versus Wlad.
If the napper had been as sloppy with Wlad as he was with Vitali, he'd have been napping real quick. the only thing that saved him there was Vitali's lack of power.

Usyk actually has a shot at a TKO here. In fact, I would back a TKO here given the napper's tendency to nap after single shots on the button.

But at least a UD for Usyk.

 

AJ is technically better than Lennox Lewis? Keep the comedy coming. I'm still waiting for someone to explain how Usyk would beat Lennox Lewis easier than he did AJ.

 

Usyk went undefeated, conquering two divisions, and conquering Britain, I understand that Lewis is a legend, but for now I have to say Usyk...

 

Funny, how you mentioned "post-Ruiz" or "post-Ngannou" but you won't mention "post-Moorer" and "post-Bowe" next to Holyfield or "fat" next to David Tua. And you call Dubois "euro-level" but mention Golota, who wasn't on DDD's level.

Just like Mavrović had his success against Lewis, so?
