People were saying the same about the 90's when they were happening. That it was a garbage era and Lennox wasn't anything great, just a boring champion who outlasted his peers.
Mavrovic was unbeaten and took every single shot Lewis landed without going down, almost like Mercer. Mavrovic was way more durable than Chisora it's not close. It wasn't Mavrovic movement giving him problems when you actually watch the fight
Lennox does what Joshua and Fury couldn't do against Usyk, bully, use his size and wear him down. Probably a typical frustrating Lennox UD.
Chisora got stopped by Fury, brutally KO'd by Whyte and Haye, dropped 3 times by Parker and Parker couldn't even wobbled Wardley, yet some people here say Wardley doesn't have a "proven chin" lol. Chisora aint taking Lewis's shots without blinking the same way Mavrovic did. Like I said when you watch the full fight it wasn't Mavrovic movement or workrate giving Lewis problems. He was extremely durable and awkward. Did you see how many uppercuts Lewis landed on Zeljko ?
I did. He landed the same uppercuts on Holyfield and he was still standing as well. Mavrović, besides Lewis, never faced fighters like Fury, Whyte, Haye and Parker. Chisora did. He also took all Vitali could give him. And he was only knocked out twice in his career facing top competition. That's called durability.
He didn't land anywhere near as flush or as numerous with his power punches like he did with Mavrovic. Holyfield also has a better chin than Chisora Vitali was 40 and had an injured arm don't ever bring that up, prime Vitali would wreck Chisora. Chisora has been dropped numerous times by fighters who aren't big punchers, that's the end of it. Mavrovic has superior durability compared to Chisora, he proved it against Lewis. Uppercuts from Parker floored this guy, but he couldn't even wobble Wardley, Junior Fa, Ruiz, or drop Wilder
Lennox was adamant that Usyk faked a low blow in Dubois I, and that Dubois would KO Usyk in the rematch I think Lennox is a tad jealous of Usyk...
He landed multiple flush uppercuts. Holyfield's chin is a similar level to Chisora. Wouldas don't exist. Chisora been dropped by fighters who are bigger punchers than any of the guys Mavrović faced, besides Lewis. Chisora's durability is on Mavrović level, or even better. According to your logic Ruiz was a better puncher than Lewis, cause he floored Evander and Lewis didn't.
Nowhere near as many as he did against Mavrovic not to mention more power punches. Holyfield was hurt more against Lewis than Mavrovic anyway so whats your point ? Your mentioning of Chisora getting dropped by big punchers doesn't matter when Chisora still got dropped by several guys who don't hit harder than Lewis. It only proves my point Parker is not nearly as big or a puncher than Lewis but dropped him 3 times. Holyfield was already on the decline and 2 years older compared to when he faced Lewis, we can extrapolate this because Holyfield won the first fight. The only sample size we have is Mavrovic against Lewis who is not only more skilled than anyone who dropped Chisora but also hits bare minimum as hard likely harder than anyone Chisora has gotten dropped by. It's not like Chisora has eaten shots from S tier punchers without getting knocked down like Holyfield, it's never happened. Holyfields sample size is not only way larger but better It's pretty pathetic you have to bring up a 40 year old lethargic Vitali with 1 working arm as evidence "Chisora was actually good" considering he still lost fight. No one with any common sense would suggest Vitali was anywhere near peak condition and he was injured, so why would you bring it up ? Yeah wouldas don't exist, this mean Jake paul vs prime Tyson would be competitive, because wouldas don't exist right ? Is this the kind of logic you're trying to pull ? Your entire argument is irrelevant to the main topic anyway. Comparing Chisora to Mavrovic is a false equivalence. Chisora trying to walk Usyk down and manhandle him is why Usyk struggled in that fight, which is something Lewis would have done if he was getting outboxed. Mavrovic did not make Lewis struggle because of his movement and defense, he just ate everything Lewis could throw, every power punch in the book and had a very awkward rhythm. Even on the inside in round 7 Lewis landed a huge uppercut and Mavrovic kept coming. Usyk didn't do that against Fury, he backpeddled when uppercuts got landed. You claim Usyk vs Joshua 2 was even until the last 3 rounds, your words not mine, so explain how Lewis wouldn't be a significantly more difficult opponent.
I never said "Chisora was actually good", I said he was durable and wasn't less durable than Mavrović. And denying Chisora's durability is crazy talk. He's also a better fighter than Mavrović was. I also never said that Lewis wouldn't be a more difficult opponent than AJ, so you're arguing with yourself now. Lewis however was more sloppy than the responsible AJ of the rematch, so Usyk would have more openings than he had against AJ.
Nah, I'd favor Mavrovic over Chisora. Chisora likely can't hurt him and Mavrovic is a decent inside fighter with good footwork and a jab, I don't care, resumes dont win fights. Despite his weak record Mavrovic was unbeaten until Lewis, gave him a decent fight and then forced to retire so we don't know how good he really was, he could've been a top contender. Chisora was always a gatekeeper. Zeljko also may have hit harder than people think because of his high KO ratio or perhaps it's because he was more skilled than people think
They never fought, so we will never know, but Chisora is a greater fighter based in his resume. Mavrović was unbeaten cause he didn't fight anyone above European level. Chisora would be favored against every opponent he faced prior to Lewis. Chisora is a gatekeeper but Mavrović wasn't even on that level, lol.
You don't know how good Mavrovic was, he dominated everyone he beat and was stylistically more dynamic than Derek
