Tyson vs Douglas - the ref should have counted Douglas out

Entaowed hasn't been here since 2023? How is that even possible? Man, I have no sense of time. I thought I just talked to him a few weeks ago.

EXCELLENT summary--spot on! (A lot of Tyson fans to this day can't accept the fact that Douglas beat him--and rather convincingly!!)

 

Mike got his ass whooped fair and square and his fanboys still crying about a long count, lol.

Funny, that it was one of Don King's corruption schemes trying to save his cash cow, that fortunately didn't fly, and they are repeating it all the time, while in the same breath claiming Don King destroyed Tyson's career.

 

Douglas would have gotten up sooner imo

 

A brt ref would’ve called it off even if he got up at 8 or 9

 

It was clearly a long count, but regardless of that, Douglas deserved to win and proved it by KOing his opponent later.
It's also fair to state that Tyson benefitted from a long count too, the difference is that he was in worse condition and couldn't continue.

I'm of the opinion that a ten count should be ten seconds but let's not act like it don't usually happen (unfortunately).

Whether we think the fight should have been stopped or not, Tyson shouldn't have been in the situation where his claim to victory relied on a matter of 4 seconds : he should have a clear-cut win.

We have no way of knowing that.

Buster was clear-headed. He picked up the count, pounded his fist on the canvas and got up before it reached 10.

If the ref counts faster, he doesn’t pound his fist and get up faster. His job is to beat the COUNT, not to be up in fewer than 10 seconds. He doesn’t have a stopwatch in his head, he’s watching the ref’s count and acting accordingly.

FACTY: Buster was not knocked out cold. He was not in lala land or he wouldn’t have pounded his fist and beat the count. He got knocked down, he got up.

ALSO FACTY: Mike got the same count. He did NOT get up.

Mike got KTFO and lost. Deal with it.
