Conor Benn signs with ZUFFA Boxing / UPDATE: New Deal

Oh dear oh dear. Eddie won’t be at all happy.

 

Interested to know what Turki is planning here.

 

This must mean that Zuffa / Turki is going big and about to sign Garcia, Rolly, Shakur, Teo, Keyshawn etc.

 

Wow, I didn't see this coming at all. Eddie really stuck it out with him through his blatant cheating and this is how it ends. Business is business I guess.

 

What a betrayal, lol.

 

Teo might need to sign with ZUFFA now, his stock has plumetted.

 

Two big names so far, this looks grim for boxing.

 

The people who thought Zuffa Boxing would have no impact on the boxing landscape were supremely naive.

 

It was based on the UFC pay model, maybe Zuffa is using Turki's money to lure the big names for now, the UFC pay model is horrible for fighters.

 

Eddie Hearn has been the bandleader in criticising Dana White and Zuffa in recent weeks. It did strike me as being massively premature. I mean, Rome wasn't build in a day. Let's see how they get on in a years time.

 

I've mentioned this here before. Before the UFC monopolized the MMA landscape, they often did pay well or even overpay to get stars away from rival promotions. It wasn't until they bought out their rivals, that they implemented the current model.

I predicted Dana would use those tactics in boxing. That's almost certainly why Turki picked him.

The Boxing establishment has been incredibly underprepared for this. Eddie alone won't be able to stand up to them.

Perhaps now Hearn will empty the truth bucket over Benn's head?
