Mayweather has a better legacy. Why risk it? Granted he should have an L against Castillo. But he doesn't.

This is what Joe Public thinks that boxing is. Like a team of 60 year olds playing football.

Pacquiao is, and always has been, a fighter. Mayweather was and is a businessman. It's completely different in the sense that Mayweather's broke, so that's why he is doing this, while Pacquiao is just a fighter who couldn't let go.

All he'd have to do is chuck 10 million in an account where he earns interest and he's set for life. Surely he couldn't have blow through everything? I hope not. He could also just fight exhibitions and earn hundreds of millions.

I had no idea he's involved with a lawsuit against Showtime. Apparently funds from his fights were sent to Haymon controlled accounts and not him. One of the fights this allegedly happened being McGregor. Makes that robber mask he wore in the walkout to that fight all the more ironic.

Tyson fought in 2024 and could barely get a punch off. There's featherweight Aussies who could beat Mike Tyson. Hell there's guys on this forum that could beat Mike Tyson.

I don't think hes broke. I've been hearing hes broke since his first retirement in 2007. Every few years its announced hes broke. Floyds fairly egrained into western elite and every avenue to "sell out" thats been available to him hes gleefully taken. Hes not going to be destitute and should have a bunch of ways to make money.

I think like so many greats hes going to fall to the temptation of "just one more fight couldn't hurt". It doesn't make sense for an undefeated fighter whose legacy is built around that to risk it for one more fight. But midlife crisis isn't really a rational thing and Floyd is not the first one to make a pointless comeback and he won't be the last.

If it was about money theres a whole industry of clown fights Floyd can take to get paid more money. Hes going to get paid more to fight Tyson then a serious younger fighter. The fact he wants a real boxing fight means its not about cash its a mental thing.
