Chagaev is going to take 7 out of 10, I think. 2 out of ten, Wilder is going to flail and land an odd knockdown that gets him a cards win and one out of ten even a very tough Chagaev will get slept, I suspect. It won't look like Wlad's knockout of him. It's just going to be a from-out-of-the-Wilderness, discombobulate Chagaev like Travis Walton and the fire in the sky, kind of thing. One of those nine out of ten fights it'll never land but kaboom rights.
Wilder, pretty clearly. Ortiz > Valuev. Stiverne > Skelton or past-prime Ruiz... and Deontay has a bit more depth too.
If we take away the WBC only contenders Wilders record against HW contenders is 7-4-1 and Chagaevs is 7-2. I count Malik Scott because he fought unbeaten Luis Ortiz and don't count Molina who fought AJ for the IBF but either way 7-4-1. If we count both 8-4-1. Wilder has a small chance of beating anyone whose ever lived and Chagaev doesn't but on your average day Chagaev should win. Skelton is better then Stiverne.
I thought this was a H2H thread when I commented and voted. I think Chagaev would probably outbox him and avoid getting KO'd (the really hard part) most nights. Resume, I guess I might edge it toward Wilder. Without irony, I still do not discount at all that Chagaev had a very interesting ask of him against Valuev and managed to take it. It might've been the most impressive win for either, p4p and inch for inch. I would have to count that Wilder managed a draw and nearly killed Fury who is well above that level in skill set, with an also-serious size advantage (the part that isn't fat). Draws count in resumes, to me. I rated Ortiz as maybe the most dangerous opponent either faced and won though, and Wilder did it twice. But I'm not vaguely sure Ruiz wouldn't beat him either, so maybe I'm looking at this wrong even knowing now what the thread is even about, if I do.
