Very few business any sport any walk of life work on a handshake deal so fair play Steve Davis for doing so.

I think most of the anger comes from the fact that this nobody little runt of a boxer who's living off his dad's name and has tested positive for drugs not once but twice and lied his way back to the ring using lawyers and confidentiality clauses, has managed to luck his way to a lucrative Zuffa deal when they're chucking money around like confetti.

No one should feel sorry for Eddie or Matchroom. They've cut many fighters off when they're not useful.

 

And bring them back despite being shot, when there's nothing else left to fill the schedule. Last night's card was an abonimation.

Give Matchroom credit though, it clearly sold tickets.

In a usual scenario, you wouldn’t really blame Benn for taking a big money offer but given the back story of this, with Hearn backing him and basically putting his reputation on the line throughout the whole drug scandal whilst also making him a multi millionaire… baring in mind he made a big loss on the first show that was cancelled due to the failed test…. It’s a betrayal really. Especially going to Dana white.

Reading between the lines as well it doesn’t sound like Nigel or Tony Sims were involved either… people have been in Conor’s ear. A story we’ve seen so many times in boxing.

 

Exactly, it's the game. As I said, I can't stand either, but Hearn wouldn't have bent over backwards for Benn if Benn was of no use to him, and lets face it, if Benn comes running back to Hearn, Hearn will take him back straight away if it makes him money. It's business.

 

He looked incredibly impressive. Barrios is one of the worst world champions ever, but you would have presume he is better than Benn who has done nothing to suggest he belongs at world level.

 

It's not a masterclass in breaking down events, but they are entertaining.
