Discounting Floyd's one fight at light heavy how would Floyd have fared against Ray's opposition if he fought those fighters at the same age that Ray did? Could Floyd have beaten any of Ray's middleweight opposition etc.?

Would have had his share of losses in 200 fights

Yeah, he'd struggle. He doesn't lose to everyone or something like that, I don't see how he loses to someone like Angott, Bell, Servo or a washed Aaron Wade, but he would have tons of issues with other fighters.

If you take Floyd the way he was, with no time to adjust to the era's climate and just make him fight someone as dirty as Fritzie Zivic ? Yeah, he's probably screwed there. Floyd actually had a pretty good attitude in regards to fouling when it was done in moderation, and he had his own little dirty tricks to retaliate. But when it was just plain unsportsmanlike, like Ortiz butting him or Maidana biting him, he got thrown off his game and required the ref to save him. Not a safe approach when fighting Zivic. It could be remedied if you actually get him used to that era though.

Him vs Gavilan would be a technical fight for the ages. It's just as likely that he wins as it is that he loses. I can easily see it going 1-1. And Middleweight is gonna be rough. He probably would beat Olson 4-0, but no way does he go 5-1 vs LaMotta. If he doesn't outright lose the series, I suspect it might end up even at 3-3. And I don't think Floyd ever beats Fullmer if he's at the same point in his career as SRR was.

Basilio too. Prime vs prime it could be close, but I think a late stage Money May version of Floyd just gets bullied to a decision loss and goes 0-2. Basically Maidana but if Maidana was good enough to win both times.

In this scenario does he have 200 fights?

    Great post.

Then imagine if you can, a scenario where he fought Jake twice, but within a period of just 3-4 weeks between the bouts.

The opposition really wouldn't be the issue. Floyd was injury prone and likely wouldn't be able to keep the same schedule plus the lack of modern rehab and surgery would hurt him. But for single fights, he'd be fine.

Yeah, I’m sure he’d have had no problems with pressure fighting MW’s etc.

Your act is getting very tiresome.

Surely you must get bored with it.

Mayweather probably gets hospitalized out of the sport.

No modern meds, surgery, nutrition or training? Didn't Robinson start his career with 6oz gloves? How would Floyd's brittle hands handle that?

Probably not, considering that he schooled an undefeated and pfp top 10 Canelo would've been a 175 back then.

    Brilliant.

Yet just 8 months after, he could barely beat a crude, B level Maidana.

    I wonder why that was.

    No need to reply.

    We’ll leave it there.

He won without much issue and then beat a pfp best Pacquiao.

I don't know if Mayweather could keep up with that activity. That's 4 times the number of fights he had but if he was a product of a different era who knows.

His hands, shoulders and style at the weight classes wouldn't have held up to the schedule that Robbi fought under.

He's not giving up the size that Robbi did to La Motta in the first fight, rematching immediately and consistenly running through the gauntlet that Robbi did.

I think he would still be a brilliant fighter but either has to retire early due to injuries or is just not a crowd draw so stays a level below consistent title shots as promoters don't want to risk their guy against someone as crafty as Floyd.

He could well be another Charley Burley in style and what if conjecture, but if he faces Ezz or the likes of Moore - yikes!
