He's getting outboxed either way. His forte is not working behind a jab to set up shots he is just able to do it at world level, that's all I can say

 

Yes, and I am speaking in terms of tactics and what works best for Garcia in this particular matchup given his tools and Shakur´s weaknesses. Doesn't mean I would pick Garcia to win.

 

Impressive performance from Garcia. I think with the speed & power, it's a very risky fight for Shakur.

 

Ryan should be tested again. He didn't seem natural to me. All that muscles, low body fat, explosive power and speed. Looks suspicious...

 

Even against this PED enhanced version of Ryan, Shakur plays with him like a cat plays with a mouse.

I continue to pick against and underestimate Ryan Garcia. He earned my respect last night. He stuck to his game plan and looked superb. He also carried himself with class in the post fight. The world is his right now, Stevenson, Haney, Benn, etc are all big fights that can be made.

 

What never makes sense to me with a fighter like Barrios is he knew Garcia's strength was power and to a lesser degree, speed. So, why would Barrios choose to absorb the power shots that were completely telegraphed? It was like I was watching a Canelo fight, where guys want to prove they can take his best shots. By comparison, more skilled fighters like Stevenson and Crawford are using their feet to avoid big shots. It is silly to try to prove you can take a fighters big shots when you can use your feet to avoid them. Strictly machismo by fighters like Barrios when they stand in the pocket. If they want to give themselves the best chance at winning, they should avoid shots as much as possible, not just cover up.

 

I think Robert Garcia could get Ryan ready to give Shakur a competitive fight. The combination of speed and power he has is insane. Probably the best I’ve seen across 135-147

 

Garcia was spectacular Saturday, Barrios gave me a boxing lesson I wasn't expecting. I hope Ryan doesn't fight Benn, I'd rather see a rematch with Haney.

 

I don't like Shakur at all but I underestimated him against Lopez. Shakur is not a good fight for Garcia it would go similar to the Lopez fight. Ryan will come out hard Shakur will neutralize him and box his way to another boring decision. Ryan is better off rematching Haney for a unification or even rematching Rollie. Shakur v Keyshawn is probably a good match up as maybe Keyshawn's dimensions might give Shakur something to have to work around.

 

People are going to be sweating Garcia again the collective memory of boxing fans is very short. At the end of the day this dude lost to Rolly... Enough said. Barrious is a one paced heavy bag... Should have lost to geriatric Pac. I'm far from a Stevenson fan.. But he would give Garcia a boxing lesson.

 

Yep exactly. If they did fight Ryan would come out fast firing everything in his arsenal and probably win the first round then Shakur would adjust the distance and jab his way to another stinker he could possibly make Ryan quit on his stool.

 

He didn't choose, he was severely out talented. Barrios is too basic and has no good attributes besides durability. He's not huge, he doesn't have power, his stamina and iq aren't exceptional, he doesn't have fast hands or feet. Nothing stands out about barrios. He'd have just gotten outboxed at range due to the speed disadvantage
