Higher then most HWs who ranks above him at HW because of his success at CW and consistently being the smaller man. Still not as high as fighters in lower divisions. So idk 40-50 seems fair maybe lower if you're being harsh. Definitely not higher.
If had retired after the second Lennox Lewis fight …he would be ranked a lot higher on most boxing forums …and he was a much better fighter …head to head …than people give him credit for
It’s funny because…I can remember in the early 2000s …when most people considered Evander Holyfield a top 5 heavyweight ALL TIME…nowadays…he’s losing fantasy fights to Rocky Marciano and Floyd Patterson …I wonder if Usyk fights until he’s almost 50 …and picks up 9 losses …will the same thing happen to him
While it's needs to be considered Holyfield fighting too long it was his choice. So in a way it counts against him still even though I think he beat Valuev despite not getting nod so that adds to his legacy.
Believe it or not…I actually fighters who stick around past their primes …Like Evander Holyfield…Larry Holmes …Mike Mccallum …Emile Griffith …a lot more than guys who just want to retire undefeated….like Andre Ward and Joe Calzaghe
He saw six years in the Ring annual pfp list and was never very close to the top, plus he was juicing. He should be next to guys like Tito Trinidad, not top 50.
