Best Resume in career of the twin brothers Andrew Moloney or Jason Moloney ? Andrew Moloney's best wins : Luis Concepcion, Miguel Gonzalez, Elton Dharry, Froilan Saludar, Norbelto Jimenez and Jakrawut Majungoen. Jason Moloney's best wins : Kohei Kono, Aston Palicte, Navapon Khaikanha, Vincent Astrolabio and Saul Sanchez.
I always rated Andrew as the best of the duo after he won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth games. As professionals, I think Jason has his nose in front. He challenged Inoue for a Bantamweight world championship & won a top tier version of the WBO Bantamweight title. Andrew has won a second-tier version of the WBA Jr Bantam title & was stiffed (imo) in a challenge for the second-tier version of the WBC Jr Bantam title. He fights for the top tier version of the IBF Jr Bantam title next up. If he wins that, he might have his nose back in front of Jason in terms of overall career achievements. Both have represented Australia in fine style on the world stage in the lower weight divisions for many years.
Even though I am Aussie I get both lads mixed up LOL. I wouldn't mind seeing the bigger one fight Sam Goodman it would be a decent domestic showdown.
I think Sam Goodman is too fresh to face off against Jason Moloney, who is declining a bit it would have little interest.
It's true that these two Australian boxers have managed to reach the same rankings as the best Japanese, Filipino, and Mexican fighters. Right now, I also think Jason Moloney is better than his brother Andrew in professional, because, as you said, he has a WBO Belt that speaks for itself and, more importantly, a few more big names on his record (specially with the dangerous Vincent Astrolabio). I also remain convinced that Jason Moloney could have avoided defeat against Yoshiki Takei. The Japanese fighter was about to collapse against the ropes when Jason Moloney unfortunately accelerated in the final seconds of the 12th round. If he had done so around the 10th round, I think he would have beaten Yoshiki Takei and retained his title, then gone on to unify Takuma Inoue, who held the WBA belt at that time.
I didn't mention that Andrew fought Junto Nakatani at Junior Bantam. That brings his quality of opposition right up. That Andrew fought Nakatani & Jason fought Inoue means they fought the best of the best in their respective divisions.
I only listed their notable victories on their resumes, but you're right, they weren't afraid to take on the best. We also shouldn't forget that Jason Moloney also faced Tenshin Nasukawa and Emmanuel Rodriguez (and of course like I said Yoshiki Takei who is also a big name in Bantamweight). And now Andrew Moloney will be against Willibaldo Garcia Perez for the IBF belt in Super Flyweight , a solid veteran and a great puncher for the category who was robbed against Alexandro Santiago (former WBC Bantamweight champion who beat Nonito Donaire), and at least he have one win against Rene Calixto who is a very technical decent boxer in Flyweight / Super Flyweight. If Andrew Moloney beat Willibaldo Garcia Perez, his first defense of his IBF belt will be against Kenshiro Teraji. If he beats Kenshiro, it would be truly incredible; in my opinion, the style of Andrew Moloney is more troublesome for Kenshiro Teraji than the Mexican. But he'll still have to beat before Willibaldo Garcia and, focus entirely on the jab and footwork; avoid mid-range or close quarters because Willibaldo Garcia is very dangerous. He is a similar profile of Cristofer Rosales.
