Henry Clark had a very underrated jaw. He may have been stopped, but never went down, including against Shavers.
I actually have watched Shavers-Clark 2 (I remember it was the first time I heard Jerry Quarry commentate and I was very impressed by him). I thought Earnie dropped and stopped Clark early but I stand corrected. That’s impressive by Clark as Liston couldn’t drop him either.
The right hand bomb that Shavers landed against Ali in their 1977 fight would have knocked out a woolly mammoth--how Ali survived that shot I'll never know!!
Although Shavers has written that he knocked him down and out, Clark was never off his feet but stopped by the ref in 2 rounds
