Shalom was brilliant today despite the efforts of those muppets White and Oliver. Frank Smith really was willing to force his brother-in-law to dehydrate himself down to 157 pounds before fighting a guy he knew was a drug cheat. It could have ended tragically and the weasel was happy to see it to keep his spot as Eddie Hearn's runner. Shalom also did a fortune reviving Whittaker's career after his quit job in Saudi. only to be brutally discarded. Can you imagine the stick he'd have gotten if he'd done a therapy session interview afterwards like Hearn did?

 

Are you hinting at possibly more Matchroom fighters leaving? Hmmmm .....I'm trying to think what would kind of fighters Zuffa might try and poach....... Dalton Smith perhaps, that would be a real blow to MR as he's only recently got a title. Josh Kelly?

Eddie has surely been getting his lawyers working overtime to get new contracts drafted for his stable.He can't run a business on gentleman's handshakes with Zuffa sniffing about.

The only big suprise for me would be if AJ left Hearn. Although hasn't he agreed a lifetime contract with matchroom?

Any other boxer leaving for a fast buck would not suprise me.

And I fully expect Tyson 'passat' Fury to be heading to Zuffa.

Yeah, I don't think any one boxer except AJ leaving, as you say would shock me at this point. What would be shocking is when you think what their stable would look like if Zuffa took Smith and Kelly away, It would be really really weak. Not sure how they could meet their new show quota with DAZN if that happened.

 

I’ve heard from a couple of people that AJ is off to Zuffa. The only thing that makes me sceptical is that ‘lifetime contract’. But then it’s boxing, and there’s always a way out of things, especially if you’ve got Saudi funds to pay for it.

 

I wonder if Eddie giving that performative interview about Conor when the news broke, was also a bit of emotional blackmail for AJ when he talked about AJ's loyalty and how he would never leave him.

There's all sorts of weirdness going on behind the scenes right now. I want to kniw what's going on.

This whole situation is odd. How he doesn't want to throw Conor under the bus, he wants to move on, it is what it is etc.

Either he will be getting paid his percentage from Conor's fight or he knows Conor is coming straight back. Just bizarre how he doesn't really want to talk about it.

Maybe he's trying to put a brave face on so he doesn't look like a buffoon in front of the TKO gang. He has to be fuming with that little runt.

Is this related to what you are talking about @Astro ? Something major being released today apparently, Jazza Dickens and Derry Mathews saying the same thing. I've been scratching my head to think what it could mean. I doubt I'd be that shocked if it was any one fighter leaving their stable. I'm thinking more on the lines of a massive merging of promotional outfits? Turki has purchased the whole of the UK? Hearn didn't seem to bothered by whatever the rumour is on his last boxing king media interview.
