He can have the most good trainer of the universe, he have nothing to do (he is not legitimate) to be against Usyk...

So Rico, while boxing, is basically a discount Tyson Fury?

Usyk already smashed Fury twice, not sure poppa Fury is the right choice considering he gave Tyson poor corner advice getting himself banned from the rematch.

It's not about Fury Dynasty vs Usyk.
Probably they offered Peter Fury good money to train Verhoeven. He's a trainer after all.

It’s happening because Turki. If Turki announces an event, it’s a done deal. Like him, hate him, you’ve got to admit that.

I personally hate the event. Just drop the belt, Usyk, then fight whatever dumb fights you want. Crossovers, old has beens, enjoy your senior tour, you’ve earned it. But don’t do it while keeping the belts hostage.

The fact it has taken over a year to schedule and announce this, alongside it being for an actual belt, makes me hope Usyk legitimately loses in some way. Usyk likely won't box for a minimum of 6 months after this, given his previous activity levels, so the top level of the division will have been stagnated for around 20+ months before things really get moving again. People trying to compare this to Ali's reign must be joking. In my opinion it's unacceptable.

Absolute farce. Anyone actually defending this is just an Usyk fanboy, not a boxing fan.

100%. And I'm saying this as a big fan of Usyk.

Same mate. This bout is legitimately on the same level as Fury-Ngannou, Mayweather-McGregor and Patterson-Radmacher. I wouldn't be surprised if a retirement announcement comes afterwards.

I wouldn't be so offended if it were an exhibition and Usyk was decently active. But he isn't, and this is somehow for a title. He has actively stagnated the division for ages. The fact there is still the typical Usyk fanboy brigade defending this is astonishing to me. Hilariously hypocritical given their reaction to Fury's joke bout.

With all the money Turki has available he comes up with this crap ? Just an awful fight.

At least Mayweather-McGregor wasn't for the world championship. Floyd came back from retirement to have a gimmick fight and that was ok. Usyk is the reigning lineal heavyweight champion and he just ducked his mandatory to fight a kickboxer.

I'm especially disappointed that it is Usyk doing this too. Fury is a bit of a clown, so the Ngannou fight while just as bad, at least felt in character. AJ has basically been on a retirement tour since Usyk beat him, so yeah sure fine, box Ngannou and Jake Paul, why not.

But Usyk ? He's supposedly the champion we all needed so long. Fights everybody, is good for the sport, all that. Well damn, didn't know the champion we wanted for so long only fights once a year and has only fought 3 different fighters these past 6 years. I'd be fine with that if he actually you know, fought everybody after being done with rematches. But apparently beating Fury, AJ and Dubois is the modern equivalent of "cleaning out the division" and "having nothing left to prove".

Like yeah alright, he beat the fat, heavy spoiler who makes everyone look bad, as well as 2 big but limited power punchers. But in terms of styles fought, Usyk hasn't faced a variety of at HW, like almost at all. Kabayel is the best and most consistent body puncher Usyk will ever fight, and other fighters have had legit success going to the body. Why not fight him to actually prove he can handle consistent elite body punching as well and silence the critics who think body assaulters like Tyson and Frazier destroy him ?

I legit hope he loses at some point. If Turki wants to see Spider-Man vs Batman so bad, he should call Dana and make Rico fight Jon Jones. Usyk going along with this is a betrayal to everything he's represented so far. A fighter who entertains such circus shows shouldn't have the privilege of standing alongside Marciano as undefeated HW champ.

I am an Usyk fanboy, I literally die of anxiety every time he fights, but considering his inactivity this fight genuinely **** me off. At least if he was fighting according to KB rules and KOing the KB champion in his own field it would show how boxing is the superior art. But a regular fight for a belt with a non boxer, it is a farce
