Rico Verhoeven vs. Francis Ngannou

Francis has more raw power and Rico gets hurt/dropped all the time.

That said I think Rico has the better hands ironically because that’s all Francis really had in mma.

 

I'd go 60/40 Ngannou. More power and pre-AJ at least it looked like he had a better chin. Rico is quite pillow fisted and the effectiveness of his striking game is more rounded (kicks etc) whereas Ngannou was all hands.

 

It would have made more sense for these 2 to fight it out than chucking Rico straight in with Usyk

 

Francis sleeps him.

 

In 2026, probably Rico.
In 2023, probably Francis.

 

Yea, it's pretty well known all these pseudo-boxers pack glass, particularly when they try their hand at the real thing.

Rico. And easily imo

Looks to have better fundamentals IMO.

 

I would also expect Rico to have the better boxing skills, but I'd give it to Ngannou. I have a feeling he could replicate the Fury fight, win big in the clinch and smother his way to a win.
