With zero use of dirty or illegal tactics to try and even the playing field and gain some kind of advantage

Many of them being undefeated, undefeated reigning champions

With all your opponents at the world level being 36 or under and many being much or you get than you when you are old and past your prime

Winning and unifying all your world titles sans 1 in their backyards and even the one time you don't the deck was still stacked against you

Whilst fighting all the world champions at least once in their backyards or agreeing to and even the times you didn't you still would've jumped at the chance to fight them in their backyards if that was what was on the table

Whist displaying impeccable, borderline saintly even, conduct in and out of the ring throughout even when facing extreme provocation and disrespect and being criminally underpaid for someone so accomplished and talented who has achieved everything they have the hard way often as the B side

And then after doing everything asked of you or anyone could ask of a fighter whilst treading a path so many of your fellow greats wouldn't even consider treading and achieving all there is to achieve you get crucified for taking a money fight, just one fight right at the end stage of your career and your first supposed 'soft touch' when you're 39 y/o, whereas, conversely, every other fellow ATG and legend no matter how high up they reside on the ATG list fought numerous or many soft touches in their primes, let alone when almost 40,

And your supposed 'soft touch' is against another giant who is way bigger than you, and who hasn't lost a fight in 11 years and is a fellow GOAT in their respective combat sport?

And many of the same people who are hammering the nails into your hands and feet worship at the altar of fighters who are filthy dirty serial cheats PED cheats, or risk averse deck-stackers who would never have taken the risks Usyk did or they did without having every advantage they could wangle in their favour to ensure said risk was minimized as much as possible or just fighters who never would've trodden the path Usyk did and whose conduct was far from impeccable

I'll say it again. What's the point of turning up early for work 10 mins early everyday, never being late or taking sickies, and winning Employee of the Month every year if the first time you take a sickie or are late your boss fires you when all his other employees take sickies and are late often or who have at least done so many times?

What's the point of doing everything the right, honourable and noble way if it's not going to be appreciated or completely forgotten the first time you falter of deviate from that path slightly?

Any boxing fan would take an Usyk that fights 3 times a year over one that fights once a year regardless of deck stacking or ped allegations

That surely would be enough to compensate for shenanigans in terms of deck stacking which often don't work anyway

Of all things that would **** of boxing fans that's among the worst examples I can think of besides fighting even less frequently or never facing top contenders.

So if Verhoven drops out can we have LeBron James fight for the WBC title? He's accomplished so much in his sport and he's 6'9 250 pound giant.

I've never understood this logic. Why wouldn't it otherwise be for the championship? Uysk is the champion. He's fighting a boxing match. If Verhouven beats him, why wouldn't he be champion?

I know what it is, but I don't approve of the concept. If Verhhoeven beat Usyk, why wouldn't he be the champ? So now you have a champ that isn;'t as good as someone else?

Non-title fights have been around a lot longer than you or I have. They are what they are and Usyk could have fought a non-title fight with his 1-0 challenger. Instead Usyk REQUESTED it be a title fight. It's on him.

A non-title fight was a valid option and that's what a 1-0 challenger should have received but Usyk REQUESTED it be a title fight. It's on him.

sure, but what is on him? Insisting that a guy who is fighting him has a shot at being champ? I fail to see how that is dishonorable, or how not giving him the shot would be honorable.
