You were at Toney and Roy's sparring sessions to be able to depict that Toney's was hard sparring and Roy's wasn't? I find it hard to take some of the comments in these discussions seriously as, they are purely built on some made up logic trying to be pushed off as factual.
How about the most glass chinned family in bioxng history? Old school aussie fight fans would tell you about Tony Mundine Sr's legendary glass chin. Mundine Sr was a world class operator who fell short in title fights and against other veteran world class operators. A number of times in his career he had top class fighters on toast only to get tapped on the chin and sit out the 10 count. His son Anthony won a version of the title and at his best was a very slick boxer also, definitely world class but was knocked out cold by Sven Ottke who couldn't punch the skin off a rice custard. He was ko'd a number times but mostly towards the end of his career. After watching old film of Mundine Sr, I don't really subscribe to the glass chin theory. I think it was more of a mental issue with him. I do think Mundine Jr didn't have the greatest chin but he went 12 with Kessler and twice with Green aswell as Antwun Echols, so it's definitely debatable.
Fans with iron mandibles like myself or ones with just above average punch resistance don't defend glass jaws or fighters with below average punch resistance, neither of whom have any place in the sport of boxing. Glass-jawed fans do

Toney was top tier and had the better whiskers after 50 fights a piece but Jones was another tier above,his achievements eclipse anything Toney ever achieved during his career,the icing on the cake is that Jones also WHUPPED Toney taking his 0 and it was not Jones who got dropped in that fight either !
The scream from the crowd when Khan tottered back on his heels after getting knocked down by Prescott was a beautiful moment. I never liked Khan, he crippled a guy through speeding and basically killed him since the guy became depressed, Khan got done for speeding a few months later. Roy was knocked down and hurt in 1998 by Lou Del Valle. You don’t have a clue about what you are talking about or a clue about Chins or Punch Resistance. Beat it nuthugger.
Toney and his chin are an exception mind. I don't think many fighters could operate at HW from middle and not get seriously hurt. And age \ cumulative impact affects fighters differently as they get older.
Why? Sure - all heavyweights are vulnerable to being slept by punches thrown by 220 lbs plus men... But some more than others.
