I think Beterbiev and Usyk are similar in that regard; they turned pro late and quickly made their way to the top of the rankings, only having a couple of dozen fights each, so even though they're a similar age, they don't have that mileage in the pro ranks. It helps that his main attributes are his ring IQ and his power, rather than speed and agility.
No, Hearns had no strength on the inside and once you got inside his power he wasn't dangerous. Same with Tito. Beterbiev will club guys to the ground with a 6 inch punch. Stop. Fighters don't scale down.

I actually think he is overrated. His best win is a 40 year old he aged out, then a blown up Canelo. I think his style is quite one dimensional, no inside game, no body work, never seen him even throw an uppercut. He does what he does very good, very technical, disciplined but I don't see an amazing p4p fighter when I watch him. Before he beat Canelo nobody talked about him as a p4p fighter or even gave a crap about him. He was just seen as a good fighter. Most of his status came from beating Canelo who was garbage at 175. I think he deserves to be near the bottom of the p4p list not the top. You need to really stand out and be special to be at the top.
Right and you can't get away with relying on your power that much at a lower weight class I guess Emanuel Navarrete is the closest thing I can think of to Artur Beterbiev at a lower weight class
I think Bivol should be ahead of Shakur and bam but not Usyk and inoue. Can we really hold it against him that he’s not moved up a weight class when he’s a small 175 and the next biggest weight class is a 25 lb jump?
I wouldn't say Inoue has nothing like Beterbiev, Donaire was younger and has a better resume than Beterbiev, excluding him beating Bivol. Bivol in most fan's opinion has a loss to a 40yo man. Zurdo is a good win, but I don't think it'd be in Inoue's top 3. I'll give him Canelo, better win than anything Inoue has. But Inoue did it over 5 divisions in 4 weight classes while basically knocking everybody out. You have to consider weight/weight divisions.
I'm generally not a big fan of rather light-hitting boxers. I prefer punchers. But Bivol has grown on me over the years. I appreciate his fine record. I thought he beat Betebiev twice, for what's it's worth. And I don't really care for pound-for-pound ratings. Never have. But, I would have no argument with someone ranking him the second-best boxer in the sport. I'd give him a good shot at outboxing Jai, too. But it doesn't seem like he'll ever challenge for the cruiserweight belt. He seems like he's in the right division and has no plans to leave. Nothing wrong with that, either.
