It will be interesting how long it all lasts, LIV Golf didn't turn out anywhere near what was promised. Granted going against the PGA is a bit ask. I guess it is how long Turki stays interested. As many have said he always seems disinterested watching. Having unlimited budgets doesnt mean you dont need some kind of tangible return. They'll need to give away swaps of free tickets for the Fury show. I think the whole thing will reek carnage for 3 years then go. Frank will be in a care home by then "shouting do me a favour" when IFL have just said his new card has recieved some stick. Back to normal
He seems like a likeable guy, everyone in boxing always has good things to say about him but yes, he has never once struck me as someone who could go far as a HW. Basic skill set and if you look at him there’s no outstanding athletic qualities in there. No big punching power, no great handspeed, poor stamina and he doesn’t seem to have an impressive build either, quite a skinny neck for a big HW. Wrong fight at this stage, they should have fed him a few walkovers to build a bit of confidence before a fight like this but I commend his cojones for getting back in there with a good level of opponent.
The latest is apparently a substantial offer was put forward to John Fury for Froch but then he started going down the route of saying Tommy had to be on the card as well. So that was his get out. The man is a walking disaster lol
Another fair assessment brother, while Clarke is likeable as a bloke, and genuinely decent at ringside, I also never saw a future heavyweight great. Still, he's a big heavy, and probably has a bit of a point to prove, he might just prove us wrong.....
Big John is an embarrassment at this point. Classic narc - talks big at the presser, Froch calls his bluff, suddenly Tommy has to be on the card. Same playbook he ran with Theo and Eagan. The get-out was always prepared before the negotiation started. Guaranteed if it was the Wealdstone Raider or Sunny Edwards, contracts would have been signed before the ink dried. He's become worse than the troll Woodhouse rolled up on. At least that troll had the minerals to show up.

Right on q 'My relationship with Tyson is destroyed COMPLETELY': Emotional John Fury reveals breakdown with his son and wants NO part of his boxing return after Gypsy King's retirement U-turn | Daily Mail Online
All the old fighters are done but still making a fortune fighting each other while masquerading as serious contenders. In past era's, these old men would be fed to fighters on the up such as Iron Mike Tyson where the decline would be cruelly exposed.
Yeah the whole metric has changed. Fighters aren’t really built anymore in the old sense, they build followings instead. The model is built around protecting that, because one bad loss and the revenue stream collapses, so you get fighters wrapped in cotton wool rather than developed through hard fights. But the flip side is you can go from shithouse to penthouse off 3–4 wins if you sell tickets and bring an audience to monetise – the Dave Allen/Bosh Jnr route. So the sport ends up with fighters who are either rushed through and exposed or protected like fine china, neither of which builds a legitimate contender. The audience has changed, the infrastructure has changed, and it’s why boxing feels like it’s gone to **** compared to when merit drove the matchmaking. Hopefully Zuffa back on Sky, with Dana bringing a UFC-style model to boxing, might be the paradigm shift the sport needs.
The recent interview with Big John with spencer oliver & that other bird is a quality watch. Includes brutal smackdowns of sugar hill, froch, and others
The problem with Big John is every time he opens his mouth… don't get me wrong, he's right about a few things. Tyson's legs aren't what they were, he's surrounded by yes people, and since Wilder 2 the motivation has probably dipped because he'd got the belt back, the money, the status, and like Hagler said, it's hard getting out of bed in silk pyjamas. But you can't have someone in the camp who craves the spotlight more than the fighter himself. It's the same old story - Roy, Floyd, Dubois, Eubank. And who's going to tell a 6ft 9 heavyweight cash-cow who's likely vastly overpaying you relative to your skillset that he's wrong, you just get replaced, ask Peter, Mick, Davison and the rest. Funny thing is the only time Big John seemed to keep his gob shut was when Peter was around, and that was arguably the best version of Tyson… although the wild boar probably played its part too. Either way Big Mac is likely to be a live dog in April, and if Fury comes through AJ should take the fight - one thing you can say about Joshua, he always comes into the ring in shape.
It was interesting in Fury's recent interview, when asked who Tyson's best trainer was, he said the late Hughie senior. Peter never gets much of a mention, so your point stands pretty well there. Of all the family Peter seems like the serious one you'd never cross and none of them seem to want to!
Yup, exactly, and that probably tells its own story. It always felt like, back in the pre-boxing days when Peter was the one active elsewhere, Big John was simply a background presence, as paid muscle. Now he seems to have found his voice through the success of his kids. At this point, he’s bordering on parody and caricature, living like a Neanderthal, yet was noticeably absent from the Tommy v Eddie Hall presser yesterday. Big bluffer and bullshitter, more than Trump at this point – eventually capitulates but always somehow still claims victory and so on.
