Do you support the IBF telling Opetaia that he is either defending his IBF belt of the zuffa belt?

To me it is pretty clear that Zuffa is trying to cause conflicts between star fighters and the sanctioning organizations. These organizations have done a lot of harm to the sport and have done plenty on their own to harm their credibility. Creating a conflict with the IBF is an interesting moment in the sport

I am not fully onboard with Zuffa Boxing but this is an interesting play

 

Generally speaking, when a champ defends his title it needs approval from the governing body who they are representing in that fight. It’s been declined in this case by the sounds of it.

is zuffa even licenced boxing? Or unlicensed? If it’s unlicensed then the champ needs stripping

I always assumed it was unlicensed due to the Ali act.

White did try to do this "Zuffa boxing" during Trumps first administration and he quit saying something like "its too much of a mess for me to fix". So Turkis the variable thats changed here.

IBF Title Is On The Table

It is official. Both titles are up for grabs here.

The IBF have just finally and belatedly said the IBF title WILL be on the table for the Opetaia-Glanton fight.

 

UPDATE : Both belts are on the line.

Congratulations to the IBF media people for keeping the participants and the fans so reliably informed.

WTF? Nobody can do a farce quite like boxing can.

 

I don’t think the IBF are in the wrong here. Read your post on the other thread with the IBF statement and it appears they were told one thing from jai team (zuffa belt is just a trophy for this fight-I’m guessing Dana’s team told em to say this) which approved the fight but have since noticed evidence to confirm jais teams information was incorrect

 

True. But the joke is on them for believing the fantasy story they were fed.
