Usyk is not small compared to Holmes. Hes a solid highly conditioned 220 lbs. Also he’s 6 3 with 78 inch reach. Size wise they’re equal. So that’s big disadvantage for Larry as he almost always had size advantage. So he has to fight someone a bit smarter then him, as well conditioned or better with equal skill to him who is his size. Close tough fight. Usyk wins close decision.

Tyson Fury is a lot more like Holmes than anybody Holmes faced being like Usyk. This can also be a sound argument for Usyk to win, but honestly I believe Fury showed where Holmes would be effective by tagging Usyk up through the first 8 rounds. Usyk and Holmes fight excellently at mid and long range, so it depends on if you think Holmes would find Usyk consistently enough to win rounds--I do.

Fury in his first fight vs. Usyk showed that if Holmes opens up, he will find Usyk. Usyk is not unhittable and I think he is better defensively vs the modern SHW like AJ/Dubois than he is against men of more similar size who can put punches together. Usyk's size disadvantage vs. modern heavyweights presents defensive advantages in the realms of footwork, speed and creating awkward angles. Usyk couldn't fight Holmes like he did DuBois or AJ.

I doubt Usyk would stop Holmes and I think Holmes could win the active rounds if Usyk tries to mix it up and at range Holmes would have the best weapon with the jab. With both at their absolute best, I favor Holmes UD.

Holmes fought plenty of guys the same size as him or bigger.

It goes the distance. Usyk hasn’t faced an opponent with Holmes overall skill set. Holmes lost to a highly skilled Spinks twice. It’s a 50/50 fight to the end.

But he wasn't the best version of himself when he lost to Spinks.
He was ageing, had been defending the title for seven years.
And there's quite a few that say he won the rematch ( myself included)

M Spinks was more athletic and a bit faster than Usyk. Usyk heavier smarter a bit more skilled. Holmes loses close fights to both.

Holmes in a dull bout that only boxing aficionados cognizant of the intricacies of the sport could appreciate. IMO the only two better heavyweights than Holmes were Ali and Louis, and while Usyk will probably wind up in the top 10 when he's done, I don't think he's in that trio's territory.
