Listening to those two talk to each other would make me want to jump out of the window. Rogan is targeting people with low intelligence who are easily manipulated as his intended demographic.
Yeah, I listened to it. Was surprised how chill he was talking about Garcia. He put down a real marker against Barrios but he does not seem to see him as any threat at all on any level. He knows how good he is. When you are that talented and take so few risks, why would you be I suppose.
Shakur is the coolest dude out of the super new school. always thought so. a diva sometimes sure, but he shows respect to the OGs and is super competitive. will check out the episode now, i know ill like it
I was a little surprised at how likable and bright he was. He was also as humble as a top level fighter should be. I definitely back him more after the interview. He is humble enough to know when he is lacking, like when he spoke about being up against it stamina-wise when sparring with Lomachenko. Would Tank admit to that? Probably not. If Stevenson can acknowledge weaknesses then he can address them, of course. Then again, in that format, I cannot really think of a fighter that comes across poorly. That might be worth a thread in itself. I get the feeling Tank and Floyd would come across poorly, but who knows.
You can tell he has decent boxing IQ when he is speaking about that one fight where he fought toe-to-toe. Saying that he fought that way because he made the calculation that by doing that he would take less damage over the duration of it was pretty interesting. Never heard that before. Shows he did not just get sucked into fighting the wrong fight, like say Amir Khan used to.
Yehh out of the four, Shakur has always been the most likable and level headed imo. Like even when Tank, Teo, Devin, and etc. were humiliated in their last few fights, he never once kicked them while they were down even though they talked bad about him for years. Being around older guys like Bud and Ward would do the job in humbling someone.
There are plenty of long format interviews of Floyd in his later years where he was really humble. With Floyd there is a switch, either hes really humble and likable or hes a total douchebag.
Yeah bro the somewhat smug diva stuff you see are just clips of him in the monent that go semi viral due to the situations and him being a raised in the YN era in general, but if you actually see him go through the motions and listen to him talk, he's been super solid. Shakur has old school mentality, he a student of the game. Oh for sure. A huge majority of other dudes would have capitalized and kick others while theyre down for clout. especially all the crazy stuff they were talking about him, even the youtube comment section wouldn't give him too much backlash. A great trait to have, one I am working on haha. English must be your 4th language because the words 'humble' and 'Mayweather' doesn't exist in the same dimension.
Its like from a decade ago, at the end of his pro run, he truly was humble and a normal human being. FighHype has lots of them up still, but I am not bothered to look them up.
You ever hear him talk about it? He knows boxing history, he knows current fighters, and he has good analysis about recent fights. He's a combat sports enthusiast in general. He'll go into random boxing facts during interviews and I always appreciate it.
