I think the Atlas trained Sasha was underrated. A shame they parted ways because I think Povetkin would’ve kept improving.

I think the end result of this matchup would look something like this

Povetkin actually regressed with Atlas, who is a terrible trainer but very good at self-promotion.

Pre-Atlas Povetkin would have defeated Dubois. But Povetkin with Atlas, I'm not so sure.

Listen to what George Foreman says here:

I favor any version of Povetkin over Dubois prior to being completely shot. I'm not sure Dubois even beats the Dillian Whyte I version. Povetkin was still a sharp puncher with lethal power and killer instinct.

I'd back Dubois over 2020 Whyte to be honest. Dubois has more to him offensively.

However, Povetkin isn't a good match-up for Dubois.

A dialled in compact aggressive version would spark out any version of Dubois, irrespective of trainer

Odds are Povetkin would get the stoppage first - much more complete boxer.

It's not impossible that Dubois finds away to stop him, but I'd make Sascha a firm favourite - 60/40 absolute minimum.

I don't think DDD would be in control of the bout up until the counter like Whyte was, unless it was the same very old Povetkin... Which this thread isn't about.

Povekin would lose because he was trained by Atlas.

I want to see Povetkin fight Gobekli Tepe under Atlas' tutelage. It would be epic.

The same Povetkin that was beaten up by Marco Huck? I'll take Dubois please.

How can you say that when Dubois was KDd 3x in one round by Lerena? Huck made 12 defenses. Dubois' only legit wins are past it Joshua and post-ped ban Miller. Don't bring up the Hrgovic nonsense

Ignoring that Huck/Povetkin was a close fight.
