If you're calling for Itauma to get a shot at Usyk, you have no business complaining about Rico

I am a big Isyk fan, and agree that the Rico fight makes no sense, the same.way Ngannou vs Fury / AJ made no sense. Are they just testing the waters for what the public will accept? Are they trying to get kickboxing supporters into boxing?

The best fight is Usyk vs Kabayel, then Wardley. I think he beats both handily.

    Money is the clear driver.

Dillian Whyte's bum ass would be a better opponent than a non-boxer. Usyk has earnt to put the titles on the line against whoever he wants, as long as they are actual ranked boxers.

Honestly couldn't care less about all the mumbling about the potential health concerns for Itauma as long as he's medically cleared to fight.

Why are you playing mental gymnastics with Itauma? Most people have an issue as he holds the belts, he shouldn't be within his rights to fight a kickboxer for the belts when valid contenders are waiting their shot. Fight the kickboxer but drop the belts no issues.

AJ/Ngannou made sense because Fury gave Ngannou credibility by almost losing to him.

AJ had no belt at the time and no obligations so facing Ngannou in a massive pay day to get 1 up on Fury. And to put an end to the MMA vs boxing hype that was all over social media after Furys embarrassment made sense.

Usyk on the other hand holds pretty much all the belts so he has obligations and and the worst part is he's not active at all.

As I've said numerous times I can overlook Usyk having a gimme fight if he was fighting atleast twice a year.

But Usyk on average has been fighting once per year for the past 6 years. And it will be over a year since he last fought Dubois in what was a very easy night's work for Usyk.

So I don't like the inactivity when it's not warranted especially when you will probably have to wait another year for Usyk to fight after this farce against a kickboxer.

Having read your title and post in full, explain to me:

    1. Why a kickboxer would ever be more deserving than an active boxer. Especially for an official title defense.

    2. Why Itauma is expected to fight someone like Franklin, but Rico isn't. Itauma KO'd Whyte (who beat Franklin btw) inside the first round. Despite being shot to pieces, it was still a very impressive performance and far better than anything Rico has achieved in boxing.

    3. What would it actually take for you to acknowledge that Usyk is taking the absolute ****?

FTR I don't think Itauma deserves the shot either, but I'd rather see him get it over a non-boxer.

...But Moses also has recently put out those disturbing videos where is mumbling to himself in a daze apparently stoned, which is a problem in and if itself, but so badly that some have wondered whether or not he is experiencing the first signs of CTE.

Yes, I know that Rico is a kick-boxer, and the skills don't perfectly translate. But I at least we know he's got a hell of a chin, and the argument could be made that he won't be hurt any more by an Usyk punch that a professional kickboxer's kick. But Moses needs to get in there with real competition and prove that he's all there before we can entertain this.

Again, because there is some evidence that Itauma is not HEALTHY to be there, which is much, much worse that not being QUALIFIED to be there.

Look, I said in the opening line of the opening statement that I would rather see Kabayel, Wardley, or even Parker if he can get is sorted, as I don't think Wardley really beat him. What more can Is say?

But I am going to watch and enjoy this. I think after seven mostly bruising heavyweight fights, Usyk needs an easy one to gauge himself, and if can bring millions of new eyes to the sport, and walk away with a lot of money, then more power to him and the sport.

What else am I supposed to say?

And I'd rather see him win some mid-range fights without slurring and being incoherent. This thread is explicitly about the fact that it is ridiculous to call for Rico on qualification and in the same breath call for Itauma, who's safety might be at risk. Why is this guy slurring his speech and turning down every fighter who represents the slightest danger, and why do some people want to but blinders on and put him in with Usyk?

Ah. So you're essentially doubling down on Itauma looking a bit dim and assuming he has some sort of brain damage?

Do you have any clear evidence of this beyond pure speculation? You generally have to be cleared medically before you can fight.

And it's a bit rich to claim that Itauma has to "earn" his shot but Rico doesn't. Usyk shouldn't be fighting either of them.

Exactly . Turki should maybe setup itauma vs rico , telling itauma not to hold back anything and catchwtboxing will find out first round who of them is more deserving ...

No, he might also have a drug problem. Or something else that we don't know about, But it ought to be sorted. And no, it isn't "speculation." We all saw what we saw. There is something there that needs to be accounted for.

You are aggressively not understanding. It's not about him earning a shot, it's about showing everyone that he is all right to be in there against mid-level guys.

As I have said, I would rather see Wardley, Kabayel, or Parker.

But he is, and neither of us have any power to stop it. So I will watch, and you presumably won't. This issue here is that some of the same people who are saying he shouldn't fight Rico ARE saying that he should fight Itauma, WHICH IS COMPLETELY THOUGHTLESS after his recent suspicious behavior.

If you can come to the conclusion that he shouldn't be fighting either, then you win the prize, because a lot of dishonest people feel differently, and are arguing the point even on this thread.

The recent interviews where he is was slurring and incoherent.

They medically cleaned Ali before Holmes. Doesn't mean anything.
