Wlad holds the record for the most stoppage wins over fighters who previously never had been stopped. I was thinking about which heavyweight champ stopped the most guys who never were stopped.

And Wlad has some very impressive ones. I always thought his stoppage of prime Chagaev is underrated! Ruslan was a tough as nails world class southpaw. He actually defeated Savon in the ams! Rock solid chin and Wlad took him apart. First to drop him too.

And of course the Ray Mercer destruction was beautiful. Mercer was actually on a good win streak and in top shape for that fight. Yes he was 41 years old but he was NOT “Past it” or “Shot” by any stretch of the imagination.

Also Tony Thompson, Lamon Brewster, Calvin Brock and the list goes on. I know there are more I’m not thinking of at the moment.

Said it once and I’ll say it again… Wladimir is an extremely underrated Heavyweight Champ.

I sense the usual suspect scuttling in to drop a line :D

Can he even jab? Maybe if he would’ve been Galento’s spit bucket carrier had he been around back in the day.

    Against who, though?

Look, Klitschko is arguably a top ten heavy, definitely top 15. But it seems like it is Larry Holmes all over again. Because he hung around for years beating blown-up cruisers and guys they got out of bars, there are those who are trying to make him into a top three fighter, and even one who thinks he's the GOAT.

This is a good topic. He has stopped or beaten many boxers and I should review it to see if it is a record if someone doesn't already know.

The guy seriously beats his opposition so bad that they are never the same again. But detractors will always say that "so and so was never good from the start" lol.

Joe Louis stopped at least 9 opponents who hadn't been stopped before - Baer, Levinsky, Uzcudun, Brescia, Mann, Pastor, JHL, Conn and Mauriello.

Wlad stopped 18 guys who haven't been stopped before at least from memory when I last counted.

Got to remember this record is now much easier to beat because a much higher share of opponents have never been stopped. So its slanted towards Wlad away from someone like Louis.

Exceptional fighter. From his amateur days all the way through his long dominant pro carer, he was always a special talent.

He broke a lot of records. For example. the youngest ever Super heavyweight Olympic gold medalist age 20, I don't think that will ever be broken.

Foreman was 19 when he won gold in 1968 at heavyweight, which covers the later heavyweight and super heavyweight devisions.

that was capped at 91kg. It's a different division. The Super Heavyweight division is anything over 91kg.

No it wasn't capped, open division, above 81kg, no upper limit.
