Usyk is a better puncher than Ali was.

 

Joyce was good amateur bet never developed into a good pro, Usyk would have toyed with him in the pros, he had no defense.

 

Dubois is 6-4-5 and has the same reach as Foreman, George was a master finisher while Dubois is just a C-grade finisher.

Ali fought at a much more frantic pace than Usyk which is why he could not maintain it for 15 rounds. If Ali was fighting the slower type of fighters that Usyk has faced, especially in 12 round fights, he could move at a more measured pace.

At cruiserweight, Usyk did not face even one fighter who is comparable to Norton and Frazier in terms of ring cutting and body punching. Usyk points to the refs when anyone digs to his body to discourage or make the other guy more hesitant to throw to the body.

Ali had to fight at that frantic unsustainable pace because he was fighting all time great body punchers, which Usyk has never faced, and expert ring cutters.

Ali rope a doped because he said Foreman was really good at cutting the ring. Not because he didn’t have great stamina.


I have already explained it several times. Foreman hurt Young quite badly late in the fight. Just because Young survived and won that night does not mean he could do it 10/10 times.

Foreman hurt every single fighter he ever fought. Perelta was stopped in tbe rematch.

Foreman does not need to consistently cut the ring. He needs to land a few good shots to corner Usyk. Foreman is a legit 6’3 with a 78 inch reach. Even if Usyk tries to move, Foreman will still hit him even with imperfect ring cutting.

Usyk’s footwork is very good but that is not why he is able to keep guys at bay. He is able to keep guys at bay because he has a good left hand and guys who don’t have great chins like Dubois and Joshua find it hard to get close as they lack confidence in their chins.

I have already said this many times. Usyk isn’t unhittable and Foreman will land plenty no matter how much Usyk moves . Foreman does not need to cut the ring consistently. His shots are so powerful and versatile and wide, he is bound to land.

Usyks defense is partially built on being able to deter guys. He has not faced a devestating two handed hitter like Foreman who has a great chin and the willingness to power through and go forward even when hurt.

again Usyk winning is not impossible. But this idea that he is so defensively amazing and that a guy who hurt everyone he ever fought is so poor at cutting the ring, that he will be easily able to glide, feint and twitch, without ever running into major trouble is comical.

 

No he isn’t.

Ali is a far better combination puncher, has faster hands and has stopped more durable fighters- Foreman, Lyle, Liston and Bonavena.

No, Usyk's combos have more power and speed, Usyk would have toyed with a slow fighter like Lyle, the heat stopped Foreman not power, Liston quit unless you're speaking about the rematch, Bonavena would so easy the hit Usyk would have stopped him.
