You have a point here, Usyk is actually poor defensively but his offense makes up for it, he's got the same height and reach as Foreman did too.

I am sorry bud but this isn’t true.

Usyks combinations are not faster than Ali. They are slower. He also rarely puts the six punch combinations together with the power that Ali did. Usyk mixed up pitty Pat shots with a couple of hard shots when he throws combos . Ali threw fast combos where every punch was a hard one

you can make all sorts of excuses for Ali stopping those guys. Usyk has never stopped anyone highly durable. So stating he is a better puncher than Ali is objectively untrue

You keep moving the goalposts. First the argument was that Foreman would cut the ring off. Now you’re saying he doesn’t even need to cut the ring off because he’ll eventually land something. Those are completely different claims.

Landing a punch eventually isn’t the same as controlling the fight. Every great boxer gets hit sometimes. Ali got hit plenty too. The question is whether Foreman can consistently trap Usyk and unload.

And this is where your argument turns into mythology. You’re treating Foreman like some unstoppable juggernaut who can just walk through anything and magically land a fight-ending shot. Foreman never showed that ability against someone with Usyk’s size, technique, and movement.

Usyk isn’t some small heavyweight Foreman can bully. He’s roughly the same size and has the exact kind of footwork and angles that historically gave Foreman problems. Ali, Jimmy Young, even Peralta forced Foreman to keep resetting his feet. That’s exactly the style Usyk uses.

Your entire argument boils down to “Foreman will eventually land something huge.” But Usyk has already taken big shots from larger modern heavyweights like Fury and Joshua and kept fighting just fine.

So apparently Usyk can hurt huge super heavyweights, but he wouldn’t be able to trouble Foreman someone Jimmy Young was able to hurt? That doesn’t really make sense.

Nobody is denying Foreman’s power. But pretending he’s some unstoppable force who automatically walks through everything unless they're Ali using the rope a dope isn’t analysis. That’s just nostalgia.

If we’re going to talk about the matchup seriously, then evaluate Foreman as he actually fought, not the fanfiction version where he magically lands no matter what his opponent does.

Dude you are so wrong I don’t even know where to start. Usyk has never taken punches from anyone remotely like Foreman including Joshua

you keep insisting that Ali forced Foreman to reset his feet when that is objectively false

you have created a ficticous version of Usyk. Not me. I should not waste my time arguing with someone who picked Mairis Bredis to beat Flreman. Foreman would knock Breidis out of the ring . And stop Usyk afterwards

And lose so badly to Jimmy Young that he found religion after that.

You’ve kind of lost the plot here. Instead of addressing the matchup you’re just getting mad and repeating that Foreman will magically land eventually.

Usyk has already proven he can deal with hard-punching heavyweights. He’s taken big shots from guys like Fury and Joshua and kept fighting.

Meanwhile Foreman never showed he could deal with someone with Usyk’s size, mobility, stamina, and southpaw angles. Fighters with far less ability like Jimmy Young already gave him major problems just by moving.

At the end of the day you can imagine whatever unstoppable version of Foreman you want, but the reality is simple: Usyk has proven he can handle punchers like Foreman. Foreman never proved he could handle a fighter like Usyk.

    That’s the difference.

I don’t think it matters Young Foreman or Comeback Foreman. If Jimmy young could outbox the younger and Tommy Morrison the mature version pretty much answers the question. Usyk would win decisively in either case.

Late starter. I'd say 'prime' Joyce was when he battered Joe Parker...

I'd have liked to see 'peak/prime' Joyce v Usyk. For me Joe was at his best v Dubois and later in ultimate seek and destroy mode v Parker. Usyk is a sublime boxer, on a different level to Joyce but I always wondered what might happen faced with 12 rounds of relentless, remorseless pressure from a heavy handed fighter with a great engine that he couldnt hurt.

....Usyk likely doesn't break sweat in outboxing him but it would have been great to see the confident, prime pre Zhang Joyce v Usyk. I think Joyce was the second best active heavyweight in the world for a brief period. I'd have taken him to beat the AJ and the Fury that were fighting at the time he beat Parker...

    6’6, 250+, 16-4 journeyman lol

Foreman would Zhang Joe worse than Zhang actually did.

Olympic siiver medalist and former top 5 contender. You may not enjoy hearing it, but Foreman never bulldozed a guy who was as big, durable, and talented as Joe Parker, but Joyce did. Joyce didn't lose a fight until he was like 38.
