Daniel Dubois vs Michael Grant

Really good matchup.

To me it boils down to where the fight is held. Sure do not see Grant with his A game if he is a road warrior. Mqybe DD does better at that but not enough to secure a win. Entertaing bout and the loser's status drops a ton.

 

After being floored several times in the fight. And come on that's Golota he quit against Grant

Unbelievable that I’m I’m the first to vote for Grant. It’s a coin flip at best for Dubois.

 

Dubois does have a better resume than Grant, but Dubois’ last fight with Usyk really makes me question his ability.

 

Pretty sure Dubois quit recently just like Golota did.

 

I think that I would take what Dubois has shown me, over what Golota has shown me.

 

Context is important here.

Both of them quit on one occasion, because they had a fractured eye socket.

If I am your cornerman, and I know that you have a fractured eye socket, then I am going to throw the towel.

 

Dubois is the most undervalued heavyweight, skill-wise, on this website. He wipes the floor with Grant. His mental fragility is overstated. He quit against Joe Joyce because of a detached retina; that’s like calling Wladimir Klitschko a coward because he quit in the Byrd fight due to a shoulder injury. In the Kevin Lerena fight, Dubois obviously had something wrong with his legs. The only fights where he quit were the two against Oleksandr Usyk, because he found absolutely zero success against Usyk (which is no excuse). However, Dubois has a better mentality than all the people who criticize him who haven't even put on a pair of gloves.

 

The context I intended is actually that he quit in his last fight against Usyk.

 

No pass given for that pathetic last performance against Usyk.

Dubois is a guy who, to his credit, has gone a long way with not a lot. He never was on the level of a prime Andy Ruiz, for example.

 

Sure, Dubois quitting against Usyk is a big blemish, but what I am saying is he’s not a serial quitter. Ruiz is skilled, but while he’s had stretches of being inactive eating tamales, Dubois has been taking big fights and staying active in the division.

 

Dubois is always a bit of a flakey pick but in this case I reckon he will probably win.
