Who Hit Harder Obviously, not going to put someone like Earnie shavers or Wladimir Klitschko because that would be unfair

Foreman. Foreman lost his power for good between the Moorer and Schulz fights. Despite this and despite Foreman nearly being 49 years young Briggs still thinks Foreman hit harder then prime Lennox Lewis and prime Vitali Klitschko. He "couldn't sleep for 2 weeks". Foreman lost whatever that quality is that knocks fighters out but his fists were incredibly hard. Briggs said he thought for a bit Foreman was pulling a Margarito.

If giving hit by Foremans empty shell was "worse then getting hit by a car" imagine how bad it was to get hit in the 70s.

I watched Foreman manhandle a huge heavy bag (had to be 250-300 lbs) back in 1974 at the Playboy club resort in Vernon NJ. Nobody hits harder. Thunderous blows. Absolutely awe inspiring.

Forum-man will be way ahead in the poll. I myself pick the bigger man who hit faster.

Of course, Briggs actually got the decision against Foreman and Lewis knocked his ass out.

To be fair, one was like 50 and the other was a prime Lennox Lewis. Outboxing him at that stage doesn’t mean that he couldn’t have been able to feel George’s power and make a reasonable comparison here, though what I find interesting is that this is also when people began to think George’s power was on the decline.

I'm 50 and I resent the implication that I couldn't bend my 40 year old self over one knee and give that guy a spanking  that whippersnapper hasn't felt old man strength yet!

Foreman and Lewis are on par. I am willing to give Foreman the edge due to him having more power in his left hand.

Briggs fought a nearly 50 year old Foreman for Christ’s sakes. And he fought a peak Lewis.

Despite the fact that Foreman was ancient , Briggs did not jump on him the way he did on Lewis. Had Briggs tried to attack Foreman with that kind of reckless abandon, even the ancient Foreman would have stopped Briggs.

that shows you how much fighters respected Foreman’s power. Briggs was willing to go for broke vs Lewis but not vs Foreman.

it has become a popular argument by some posters on this forum to downplay Foreman’s power. The fact that there are people who claim Dubois hits harder than Foreman really shows how silly some posters are.

Foreman is by all accounts top 10 all time in terms of power and arguably top 3. The fact that guys half his age did not want to stand infront of him is a testament to his god like power. Claiming the likes of Joshua or Dubois are better punchers than Foreman is the height of absurdity

That supports my argument more because \Foreman didn't even score a KD and Lennox is one of the only people who knocked him out. Lennox or Vitali SHOULD have left more of an impression. Not a guy he narrowly outpointed.
