He wasn’t a coward against Byrd in their 1st fight. I’m more so talking about his later fights, after he adopted the jab-and-clinch style. He only really fought like a man again in the Anthony Joshua fight (before Joshua was throwing hands in the Wach fight, but Wach is trash, so it don't count), which, even though it was a loss, boosted his reputation with boxing fans to the point that many people overlook his earlier style and the criticisms that came with it.

 

Like I said - the style did him good. It's all about the result and by adopting this style he became the second longest reigning HW champion in history and had fourth best KO% in title fights. One of the best HWs of all time.

 

Never said he wasn't good H2H he beats Ali, Holmes, Holyfield, and Bowe. However, he has cheated in multiple ways outside the ring (search it up) and also in the ring. Watch this video

Also, Wlad ruled over the weakest deviation post-Louis. Also boxing is 90 percent entertainment; that's why you don't see the amount of BS in other sports.

 

I know all of that. His cheating outside the ring wasn't proven. Povetkin fight was horrendous, but again, you fight like the ref lets you, and it was Pov's camp who picked the ref and the fight was on their turf. Wlad's division wasn't weaker than the 50's, 60's or the 80's. He wasn't entertaining, but neither was Johnson or Lewis sometimes. He was damn efficient tho.

 

I forgot about the 50s, but the late 2000s to early 2010s is not better than the 60s or the 80s.

 

I'm not saying it was better. But not worse. Not by much anyway. I always placed Wlad's era on par with Louis' and Holmes'.

 

Larry's three best wins: Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, and Michael Spinks (2)/Gerry Cooney (the win didn't age well because he didn't come back the same, but Cooney was on a killer run).

Ali’s three best wins in the 60s: Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson, and Cleveland Williams.

80s talent: Tubbs, Tyson, Tucker > 2010s talent: Haye, Povetkin, Chambers

 

Wlad's best wins are Byrd, Povetkin and Pulev. Add Haye, Chagaev and Ibragimov to the mix and you got a roster of guys who can beat all of the above mentioned, except for Liston.

 

The 1st Byrd fight isn't part of the Wlad era (2005-2015). Byrd was greatly diminished when facing Wlad the 2nd time. Povetkin's win is horrific, so I didn't count it. Haye is on the level of Herbie Hide (not bad but not championship level). Chagaev and Ibragimov are good. However, Witherspoon and Liston beat all of them except maybe Povetkin.
