I thought it would be interesting to see the different rating orgs and online ratings and how they are rating heavyweights these days I looked at tbrb, ring, wba, who, wbc, ibf Ring and tbrb are actually decent, definitely some arguments can be made by for the most part they are aligned (even though I think itauma is too high in both rankings at 8 and 7) Let's talk about some of the head scratchers from the orgs Itamua : WBC#3, WBA#1, IBF#unranked, WBO#1 --- damn for a guy who KOd a past it Whyte that is extremely high ratings almost across the board (minus the IBF but we'll get to them in a minute). Im having a hard time justifying him based on accomplishments at #10 let alone two #1 rankings Okolie: WBC#1 ibf#6, well I'm pretty sure it's a rule the wbc made up to push guys who were champions in lower divisions who move up pretty high (wasn't okolie the bridgerweight wbc champ?). Whatever Joshua wbc#2,wbo#4 --- Joshua has beaten Jake Paul and that's it for over a year and a half. I guess that's good enough to get shot straight up the rankings Jalolov wbc#10,ibf#5,wbo#8 pretty ok ratings for a guy who has yet to beat anyone near any significance. I guess we count amateur results in professional ratings now Jared Anderson wbo#6, hasn't fought in 13 months, looked like crap against a non entity and before that was KOD by Bakole. For shame WBO Frank Sanchez WBC#8, IBF#4, --- I continued to be baffled at Sanchez's high ratings and continued inability to fight anyone Gurgen - WBA#8 ****ing what? The bar is very low in the WBA Kem Ljungquist - WBA#9, again see Big Gurg above My take: heavyweights are too inactive and the ratings game is a joke
TeremonaX2 is fighting Curtis Harper tonight who will be Teremonas best opponent to date. Harper isn't a world beater but generally a decent journeyman who can give rounds. Took Torrez jr 8 rounds to stop him a couple of years back
You flagged him a long time back and I've been following him since. Hope the next fight is only a couple of months on.
Slow Eddie's got him on a show in Melbourne next month. Hopefully they find a decent local for him to fight b/c so far he hasn't faced any.
If ever there was a fighter who needs to step up to better competition, it's Teremoana. He's won all his fights by first round KO except for the one he won by KO 2. At age 28, there is no point in fighting any more stiffs. It's time he fought a decent fringe contender like Adeleye or Brandon Moore.
Well I'd hope Teremoana's team don't give him another part-timer next, hes clearly above that level. Great KO nevertheless.
Jerry Forrest would be a good step up and may give him some rounds Honestly they should try and like up a fight ASAP since he took zero damage and went less than a round
According to BoxRec Teremoana is scheduled to fight next month April 29th. A nice quick return, refreshing for a change! Hopefully its someone better than Harper at least.
Jerry Forrest is a big step up from Harper (won against Jermaine Franklin and drew with Zhang and Hunter). He should fight Gerald Washington or Faiga Opelu.
Yep, I reckon Django Opelu & Kiki Toa Leutele as his next two. Over six. Slow Eddie had him in an 8-rounder yesterday. Cool your jets, Slow Eddie. Then Toese Vousiutu & Stevan Ivic (Australian champ). A couple of tough American club fighters after that (in fairness to Slow Eddie, that's what Harper was supposed to be) & then begin the climb against fringe contenders. Miss out on any of those steps & I think you're building on a wobbly foundation.
Seems to have a very pro friendly style which many were hopeful for. Definitely one to watch, but obviously still a work in progress and we will need to see how he copes when facing an opponent able to stand up to his power and land their own.
