Ruiz did a better job knocking out bigger opponents. He and Cunningham are not comparable.

 

Well then by your logic Wilder must be the hardest hitting heavyweight in history considering he was the lighter fighter in almost all of his fights, some by up to 60 pounds.

 

You are missing something very obvious--Cunningham got lesser results in a lesser weight class. He has an easier bar, and go lesser results.

 

Cunningham weighed the same as Wilder did at heavyweight and was 6'3. He wasn't a cruiserweight when he fought Fury. He scored a flash knockdown that didn't hurt Fury at all.

Ruiz on the other hand actually knocked AJ out after 4 knockdowns and hasn't really KO'd anyone else of note.

 

I am freezing here. It is really not a controversial point. The old saying is, "a puncher can't move up and take his punch with him." Cunningham, whose natural weight is cruiser, was not a big puncher there, and he certainly did not become a bigger puncher by moving up. Ruiz is a decent puncher at heavy.
