Dave Allen vs Filip Hrgović set to headline Queensberry show in Doncaster on May 16

Hrgovic needs to be getting a bucket load of cash to fight Itauma, not Dave Allen.

 

Waste of a fight for Hrgovic tbh, he’s at a different level and doesn’t need to be fighting guys like Allen nowadays.

 

Pointless fight. I like Dave, but it'd be much more fun and better for his health for him to stay in his lane at the British level. With Jeamie TKV as British champion, it'd be as good a chance as he'll ever get to pick up a strap (and even then it's a slim chance).

This fight will be target practice for Hrgovic, who's much better than Makhmudov, who's much better than Allen. A waste of time for both men.

 

Could be a bit of fun...

Goes the distance, plenty gets thrown but neither really gets hurt bad - then both gas and it looks crap towards the end. Hrgovic wins on the cards.

Really though, it's a poor fight for Hrgovic and you can only assume he didn't have any better options - it's pointless him fighting journeymen at this point.... He might be limited at the top level, but he's still too good for guys like this.

Hrgovic is boring but is still a legitimate top 10 in the world contender. Dave Allen is a domestic level fighter who is not even a top 10 heavyweight in Britain.

Hrgovic is a HBO hype job. Dave dismantles him to the body like he did Lucas Browne

 

as much as I like Allen, he had chances to win against Mak, but he came in way too heavy, unless he comes in at a reasonable weight which I would say is probably 240 and below, he’s gonna get crushed.

I like Dave Allen but this fight is kind of a waste of time but at the same time good for Allen and his fan base which is huge, at least Allen dares to fight everyone.

Allen really is an idiot.
This is a bad matchup for him, massive size difference and big chin on the Croatian.
Allen has a better shot against someone like AJ or Dubious etc., fighters with quit and vulnerability or who are overconfident, where he can Homer them potentially.
I think Allen should take some of the 'big fights' but only against people with some durability issues.
That's why the Price fight wasn't a bad idea for him really but Price showed he's pretty skilled and at that point Price took that very seriously and didn't overlook him.
