Jai may be the best cw on the planet, but he’s walked away from the sport and entered into zuffa/misfits/unlicensed type boxing.

Looking in the mirror won't find you one.

I’m not a fan of boxing. Don’t claim to be one.

you seem to be a fan of Dana or ufc, so not of boxing either.

You are a fan of Dana/ufc and the demise of the boxing establishment.

Im not a fan of boxing.
Ive worked in the boxing industry for around 20+ years.

you’ve taken a factual comment about the media repeatedly telling us boxing needs fixing, to personal insults.
You call yourself a fan of boxing, which is why, with my professional experience, I would never claim to be on a similar level to a fan.
    It would be downgrade.

You started with the personal attacks so don’t try taking the high road.

Nothing grandeur about working in an industry.

You’re just a fan of Dana and ufc, and wish for their takeover of boxing. no need to be in denial.

We could all get on here and boast about what we've done in the industry. How many fights we've had. Who we know. Well the insecure ones amongst us could anyway.

You started with the personal attacks because I criticise Dana/zuffa and the PR, then say I’m Narcissistic because I said I’m not a fan I just worked in the industry.

Delete your personal attacks, then I’ll delete my responses and we can move on.
I won’t be removing any negative statements about Dana or zuffa though unless you are Dana and have taken them personal.

I’ve not done any bravado talk. I did say being called simply a fan would be a downgrade. Isn’t this stating the obvious?

Should have done that from the start and not started with the personal attacks.

Dana and ufc are running a misfits style outfit st present and just throwing money about to get places. This is what hurts you

You’re being deliberately obtuse now. Not to mention melodramatic and disingenuous. Opetaia hasn’t walked away from anything. The other alleged top CW’s continue running though, that much is certain.

The IBF literally tried to stop Opetaia putting food on the table, demanding he wait around until Briedis was fit enough to fight as the “mandatory” challenger. In almost every other commercial situation in the developed world this would be legally seen as a restriction of trade.

And now the IBF have done it again.

Why the hell should the best CW in the world be stopped from making a living whilst inferior guys are allowed to make bank?

Opetaia is quite right to fight on his terms.

I don't think Dana White will go far in the boxing world if he continues his current policy regarding the four major world organizations. These organizations have many flaws and make many mistakes, but they've been around for a long time, and in boxing a world champion is anyone who holds at least one of their world titles. I think starting a new promotion and immediately wanting to distance themselves from the four major world organizations was a mistake, and I hope White realizes this soon.

One of the questions some journalists will ask the Ramirez-Benavidez winner is whether he wants to fight Opetaia, because it would be an interesting match for fans (and would bring in good money for the fighters). It's foolish for a manager not to create the conditions for one of his fighters to earn a significant purse (and make money himself). I wouldn't be surprised if, after what happened to Opetaia with the IBF, White changed his policy, especially considering his close relationship with Turki Alalshikh, who, unlike him, entered the world of boxing intelligently.
